The model ex of Manchester United star Jesse Lingard was snapped cosying up to his football rival Jack Grealish this week. Jena Frumes, 26, who split from winger Jesse, also 26, in March last year looked delighted as she posed with Aston Villa star Jack Grealish, 24 in a now-deleted snap posted to Jack's Twitter. Further fuelling the fires of the romance, she also shared a photo of Grealish on SnapChat in the same outfit with the caption 'ooo I'm in love' - which too has been deleted. Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has said that Paul Pogba's lacklustre performances for struggling Manchester United are a result of the player not being fully fit, while also doubting his side's ability to win titles. The midfielder has played only twice since August and missed United's loss to Newcastle on Sunday as well as their drab 0-0 draw against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League last week, owing to a recurring ankle injury. They sit just two points above the relegation zone, in 12th place, in the Premier League and have a trip to table-topping Liverpool to look forward to after the international break. Paul Pogba has appeared five times in the Premier League this season, failing to score Ex-Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger puts Pogba's poor showings down to mentality and fitness "I think he behaves like he knows at the moment Manchester United is not the team to compete for the championship plus the fact he was stopped from going away, the two together have tarnished his … [Read more...] about Paul Pogba is sulking because Manchester United ‘can’t compete’ for the title, claims Arsene Wenger – who also blames star’s slump on his desire to leave Old Trafford and lack of motivation and fitness
Mario Mandzukic, without a minute of competitive football since May, is top of Manchester United’s shopping list in January. The Croatian is more out of favour at Juventus than Paul Simon at an Art Garfunkel gig, and seems set to sit on the sidelines until the January transfer window rolls around, having been left out entirely of the Old Lady’s Champions League squad. United, meanwhile, are woefully short of options up top, with Tony Martial injured, Mason Greenwood a bit, um, green, and Marcus Rashford seemingly doing his best work these days off the left flank. Rumours are rampant that United already have a verbal agreement to sign Mandzukic in January, with the 33-year-old commanding a £9m fee and a £85,000-a-week contract. Ed Woodward always gets what he wants. One might wonder why United don’t go after Edinson Cavani, a younger, more prolific striker, who would also be available for zilch come the end of the season once his contract with PSG is up. … [Read more...] about Football transfer rumours: Mario Mandzukic to Manchester United?
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 700th career goal when he converted a 72nd-minute penalty in Portugal’s Euro 2020 qualifier defeat to Ukraine. The 34-year-old has scored 95 for his country, 450 for Real Madrid, 118 for Manchester United, 32 for Juventus and five for Sporting. Portugal were beaten 2-1 by Ukraine in the Group B match, a result which meant Ukraine qualified for next summer’s finals. Ukraine top the group on 19 points from seven games, eight more than the second-placed European champions Portugal, who have a game in hand and should still qualify given their last two games are against Lithuania and Luxembourg. Third-paced Serbia are on 10 points from six games after an Aleksandar Mitrovic double gave them a 2-1 win in Lithuania. Luxembourg have four points from six games and the Lithuanians prop the group with one point from seven matches. In Kiev, first-half goals by Roman Yaremchuk and Andriy Yarmolenko took Ukraine into a 2-0 lead before Ronaldo reduced the … [Read more...] about Euro 2020 roundup: Ronaldo hits 700th career goal, Giroud on target again
Mesut Özil seems to have accepted his days at Arsenal are numbered, having made just a paltry two appearances for the club in all competitions this season. With his manager Unai Emery reported to be unimpressed with the playmaker’s attitude in training, a January move elsewhere looks increasingly likely even if his current employers are forced to heavily subsidise his £350,000 weekly stipend. Turkish newspaper Takvim, which your polyglot Rumour Mill has delivered daily, report that Fenerbahce have opened talks with Arsenal about a loan deal and say the “dream move can come true in January”. Not for the first time in recent months Manchester City are mulling over the possibility of trying to sign Nathan Aké, having identified the central defender as the man to help plug the conspicuous Aymeric Laporte-shaped hole in their beleaguered defence. Speculation linking Aké with City during the summer ultimately came to naught, but knowing how desperate … [Read more...] about Football transfer rumours: Mesut Özil to leave Arsenal for Fenerbahce?
