Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank welcomed their first child yesterday - and the £45-a-bottle tequila company where he works was quick to capitalise on the news. Just 11 minutes after Buckingham Palace officially announced the couple had welcomed a son, Casamigos sent out a press request that any mention of proud father Mr Brooksbank should include his 'official title' and namecheck the brand. Unlike his wife, Mr Brooksbank does not hold a royal title. Instead this refers to his job as 'European Brand Director of Casamigos Tequila'. The statement read: 'Due to the recent news surrounding the arrival of the Royal Baby from HRH Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, we wanted to drop you a note to ask if you are to mention any further details about Jack Brooksbank that you use his official title: European Brand Director of Casamigos Tequila.' Mr Brooksbank first started working with Casamigos – which was co-founded by Hollywood star George Clooney and Cindy Crawford's husband … [Read more...] about That didn’t take long! Britain faces a second summer write off: Travel firms, wedding venues, pubs, and event organisers warn uncertainty over when Covid rules will end – if EVER – means hundreds of thousands of jobs and businesses will go
Travel and hospitality bosses today warn the UK faces a second summer write off as uncertainty over when restrictions will end squashes demand for holidays and social venues. Millions of Britons have already booked trips ahead of the Prime Minister's announcement of the country's plan for easing restrictions on February 22 and Matt Hancock has previously predicted a 'Great British Summer'. But several government figures are hinting coronavirus restrictions could last well into summer - despite fears it will spell the death knell for businesses across the UK when the furlough scheme ends on April 30. Mr Hancock indicated today tough border measures - Including ten-day isolation at home for all travellers and hotel quarantine for 33 'red list' countries - will need to be in place until vaccines have been tweaked to deal with variant strains in the Autumn. BP blows away bid rivals with big bet on wind farms

Advertisement In the first auction of offshore wind licences to be carried out by the Crown Estate since 2010, BP and its German partner, Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg (EnBW), agreed to pay £924m for the option to develop two sites in the Irish Sea around 30km … [Read more...] about BP blows away bid rivals with big bet on wind farms
Schools call an ONLINE snow day: Parents fume as teachers cancel Zoom lessons for pupils because of SNOW and tell kids to go sledging for homework instead as council boss begs for more students to be home-schooled because classes are ‘over-capacity’
Parents have been left fuming at headteachers who told their children to play in the snow instead of taking online lessons on Zoom. As large parts of the UK were hit with snow from Storm Darcy, some headteachers took it upon themselves to call a 'snow day' for home school students, scrapping online lessons and telling children to go out sledding instead. One school leader boastfully said she 'didn't care' about the reaction from already under pressure working parents, many of whom are struggling to deal with home-schooling as it is. Another even suggested working parents who had complained about the move were 'ungrateful'. The row comes amid a huge clash between the Government and teaching unions ahead of the full reopening of schools in England after lockdown - with the Government currently pinpointing March 8 as a return date. The Government also plans to extend the school year in England, with Boris Johnson vowing to go 'flat out' to help children catch up on lost … [Read more...] about Schools call an ONLINE snow day: Parents fume as teachers cancel Zoom lessons for pupils because of SNOW and tell kids to go sledging for homework instead as council boss begs for more students to be home-schooled because classes are ‘over-capacity’
