A MISSING man was tracked down thanks to movie-style detective work after police uncovered a hidden message on a Christmas card. Officers were desperately hunting a 67-year-old man from Crook, County Durham , who they believed was heading to the Northumberland area. But with no mobile phone and no other leads, hopes to find him had started to fade. In a desperate hunt for clues, PC Bruno Lee and PC Martin Coates of Bishop Auckland’s D Relief team decided to check the man’s post, Chronicle Live reports. Officers found a Christmas card and on holding it up to the light, noticed the faint imprint of a word and a phone number. It appeared somebody had been resting on the card while writing a note, leaving an indent on the card beneath. Officers thought they had exhausted all options after the 67-year-old man was reported missing last month. Extensive enquiries suggested the man, from Crook, County Durham, was heading to the Northumberland area. The creator of a series of deepfake Tom Cruise videos says he wants to make people more aware of what they are watching - and that it might not be real. Viewed more than 11 million times, Chris Ume's videos appear to show Cruise playing golf, doing a magic trick, and falling over while telling a story about former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev. A deepfake usually involves an image or video in which a person or object is visually or audibly manipulated to say and do something that is fabricated. Most people realised Ume's videos were fake - but the 31-year-old says the speed the technology is advancing could pose problems in future. "I always try to make funny content, but at the same time, when people see these videos they realise and will learn what's possible within the next few years," he told Sky News.
