A Merseyside school has issued a warning to parents about the MOMO challenge sweeping the nation. The game begins with a shadowy controller sending violent images and messages to the victim over WhatsApp or online games. It threatens the player if they refuse to follow 'orders'. There are claims that users are told to harm themselves or even kill themselves. Now parents at Birkenhead High School Academy have received an email w arning them about the phenomenon. Vice Principal Barbara Carter said: "Some of our students in both juniors and seniors have spoken to staff today about a new 'game' online called the MOMO Challenge. "It is frightening them and encouraging them to complete challenges, including it has been reported, to kill themselves.
