She was sent out to get tuna and milk from a local shop in the Figueira, a village near Portimão on the Algarve, on the evening of September 12 2004. A neighbour saw her about 200 yards from her house walking back from the shop — the last time she was seen alive. An investigation ultimately led police to conclude that Joana had been murdered by her mum, Leonor Cipriano, and her uncle, João Cipriano. A woman forced to cover up her “inappropriate” outfit on a flight has been left “mortified” by her experience. Emily O’Connor, 21, from the UK, claimed staff threatened to remove her from the Thomas Cook flight she boarded from Birmingham to Tenerife. Taking to Twitter in a now-viral post, Emily said she was told to cover up and put on a jacket as she got on the plane, because she was “causing offence”. She was dressed in a crop top and high-waisted pants. Flying from Bham to Tenerife, Thomas Cook told me that they were going to remove me from the flight if I didn’t “cover up” as I was “causing offence” and was “inappropriate”. POIGNANT footage has emerged today of Madeleine McCann stepping on board the plane that took her on holiday to Portugal where she vanished. The haunting clip shows the three-year-old girl walking onto a flight at East Midlands Airport and then on an airport bus in the Algarve were taken in April 2007. The video was first released by Madeleine's parents Kate and Gerry McCann, of Rothley, Leicestershire, four weeks after she went missing in Praia da Luz. At the time they were not widely circulated but have come to light in a new eight-part Netflix documentary about the case which was filmed without the co-operation of the McCanns.
