A new fitness centre which opened in Downham this month has met with enthusiasm from users impressed with its facilities, staff and technology.Businessman Andrew Sell opened a new Fitness Space franchise at 6 Church Road, thanks to a £80,000 business loan from HSBC.The funding has enabled Andrew to completely transform 2,750 sq ft of leased commercial space, into a fully-equipped fitness club, bringing four new jobs to the local community.Comments by customers on Facebook include Jane Flint, who said: "I’ve been going since this gym opened and I love it."Not since living in Cambridge 16 years ago have I been to a gym that is so well equipped and friendly."And Rachel Blount said: "I have been to gyms in the UK and the USA. The Whitby Gazette is urging people to attend a donor event next Friday to help Peter McCleave, a former Eskdale pupil who has multiple myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cells. He needs to find a matching donor to help him battle the illness and potentially save his life. “I have a wife and two kids and I’m only 40-years-old,” he said. “We need people to do it because I’m looking for a donor.
