Their messiah is no longer in power, but some followers of the QAnon conspiracy theory believe that Donald Trump will return to the throne today. Followers of the wide-ranging movement think the former president is waging a secret war against elite Satan-worshipping paedophiles and will eventually be restored to high office. But why on 4 March? Well, that date was, until the 20th amendment was passed in 1933, the inauguration date for presidents. The fringe belief that is still the rightful date comes from the unfounded claim among some QAnon followers that the US turned from a country to a corporation after the District of Columbia Organic Act in 1871. Advertisement Some claim that any president sworn in before that date is therefore illegitimate. March the 4th began spreading among QAnon followers only days after Joe Biden was sworn in on 20 January. Elon Musk’s Mars mission to colonise Red Planet starts’ TODAY’ with SpaceX Starship launch
SPACEX is closing in on the latest launch of its Starship rocket, which the firm hopes to use to carry astronauts to Mars in 2024. The Starship prototype SN10 could fire high into the sky from a launchpad in Texas as early as today. In a recent tweet, Billionaire SpaceX founder Elon Musk said the ship's launch window would open at 9am ET (2pm GMT) on March 3. Flight restrictions announced by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reveal that the company has three days to complete the flight. Residents near SpaceX's Starship facility in the town of Boca Chica say that they have been advised to evacuate their homes ahead of the launch. Should the launch go ahead, it would mark the third high-altitude flight and landing conducted by a Starship rocket. There's a lot of interest surrounding the launch after two recent flights were engulfed in flames after exploding upon landing. This flight, however, will be different. Both of SN10's predecessors - SN9 and SN8 - … [Read more...] about Elon Musk’s Mars mission to colonise Red Planet starts’ TODAY’ with SpaceX Starship launch
First look inside new supersonic jet that could fly from London to New York in 90 minutes
A SUPERSONIC jet which could fly from London to New York in just 90 minutes has revealed what passengers could expect from the flight. Inside the Spike S-512 Supersonic Jet cabin would be a large seating area, which can be converted to beds or a dining area and flat-screen TVs. The flights, which would have a maximum 18 seats, will have no windows, due to window sections being the weakest part of a plane. They also bring in a lot of noise, making the plane not just stronger and more fuel-efficient but quieter as well. Spike Aerospace founder and CEO Vik Kachoria told the Telegraph : "“The Concorde was ridiculously noisy. "Most conversations between two people are between 65 and 75 decibels and the noise level found within most plane cabins is around 85 decibels. "Our windowless aircraft will be about 60 decibels, so lower than the sound of a conversation." Instead, long computer screens along the wall of the cabin will simulate panoramic views. Sir David Attenborough says BBC of today wouldn’t have taken a chance on his first nature show
Sir David Attenborough has said the BBC of today would never have commissioned his first nature show - depriving him of a career spanning eight decades. The legendary broadcaster, 94, said the risk-averse and red tape-loving corporation wouldn't have taken a chance on his groundbreaking 1954 programme Zoo Quest, which followed him on an expedition to Africa. Sir David said: “Out of the blue I thought it would be wonderful to go to Africa. "To my amazement the bosses at the BBC said, ‘That’s not a bad idea’... and they let me do it. I’m sure I could have done it much better if I’d been more experienced or talented, but we got away with it." He added to the Call Of The Wild with Cel Spellman and WWF podcast: "The BBC said, ‘How long will it take?’ ‘Ooh, three or four months’. ‘Oh well, good luck, my dear chap. Hope to see you at Christmas’. "It was that kind of organisation at the time, it isn’t like that anymore." Sir David's latest nature series Life in Colour … [Read more...] about Sir David Attenborough says BBC of today wouldn’t have taken a chance on his first nature show
Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible filming scrapped as crew fly home from the Middle East
MISSION Impossible’s all about pulling off the unfeasible – but shooting the film during a pandemic is a challenge too far for leading man Tom Cruise and his team. He flew the cast and crew to the Middle East for the latest run of scenes, but has been forced to end filming of the seventh instalment of the franchise after people refused to work any longer. Production staff demanded they were allowed to head back to the UK this weekend before hotel quarantine rules come into effect on Monday. Studio bosses have now had to charter a private jet to bring them home because they were up in arms about not being able to return to their families. A movie insider said: “The whole production has hit yet another issue and there have been revolts among the cast and crew. “For quite a few of them, the prospect of having to quarantine in a hotel back in the UK is a step too far and they’ve demanded to be flown home before the rules change. The studio has had to fund a jet back and the … [Read more...] about Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible filming scrapped as crew fly home from the Middle East
