REAL MADRID will escape a £1.75million payout after new boss Julen Lopetegui was sacked as Spanish national team manager. The 51-year-old was relieved of his duties on Wednesday, just one day before the World Cup begins, for agreeing to join the Champions League winners while still in his Spain role. Real were facing having to pay a £1.75m release clause to the Spanish FA for taking Lopetegui away while he was still contracted to them, but the sacking breaks that agreement, according to AS.
