For the past few weeks, all eyes have been on the Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia, where actor Johnny Depp and his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard , have been engaged in an explosive legal battle. Depp, 58, sued his ex-wife for $50million (£40m), claiming that a 2018 article she wrote for The Washington Post about her experience with domestic abuse, suggested that he was physically and sexually abusive towards her during their marriage. Heard later filed a countersuit against him for $100m (£80.3m). One of New Zealand’s top racing trainers failed to provide adequate care for one of his greyhounds at a racing meet by not checking an injury properly, an inquiry has found. Canterbury-based John McInerney – who runs Homebush Hounds in Darfield – has 191 dogs in his care, according to Greyhound Racing NZ. He is currently second in this season’s trainer’s premiership , and has earned $1.14 million from 461 races won. McInerney failed to provide proper care for the welfare of Homebush Hero, a greyhound under his control, by not physically inspecting the dog to ensure it was free from injury prior to racing on February 22, a Racing Integrity Board (RIB) decision said.
