Lewis Hamilton believes Ferrari are cracking under the pressure of this season's championship fight after he took another major stride towards winning the world title. Hamilton will start the Japanese Grand Prix from the front of the grid after claiming an 80th pole position of his record-breaking career at the Suzuka circuit on Saturday. Vettel, who is already a distant 50 championship points behind Hamilton, lines up only ninth after an embarrassing tyre blunder by Ferrari cost the German dearly in qualifying. It did not help that Vettel was also culpable of another error as, in attempting to make amends for his team's mistake, he ran off the circuit at Spoon and finished 4.4 seconds down. What is it? The 2018 Italian Grand Prix at the historic Monza, northeast of Milan. Or, the Temple of Speed as it's also known, as it's the fastest lap of the year. We're coming towards the end of the traditional European season before heading off to Asia (Sochi included) after this round. In fact, this is the last proper European race before the fly-away grands prix. When is it? GRID girls are heading back into Formula One with Monaco and Sochi GP bosses ready to defy the ban – and fans are calling on other races to do the same. By Charlotte Ikonen / Published 13th May 2018 F1's new owner, Liberty Media, announced earlier this year it was replacing grid girls with grid kids. The change was described to be encouragement for the kids, who are kart drivers and aspiring F1 racers.But many disagreed, including former owner Bernie Ecclestone, who insisted the girls were a much-loved part of the sport.The bosses of the Monaco and Sochi GPs agreed and said they will ignore the ban at their races this year.Monaco president Michel Boeri confirmed grid girls will be used in Monte Carlo on May 27. What is it? The fifth round of the 2018 Formula One season returns to the newly-resurfaced but very familiar Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Montmeló, 20 or so kilometres outside of Barcelona. The teams spend a lot of time testing here in pre-season, so they know it better than the backs of their hands. Many of the teams will also be bringing significant upgrades. When is it? The season returns to Europe this weekend with the race today (Sunday). What time does it start? It's the first European race starting under F1's new schedule, so every session is moved back an hour, with the race starting 70 minutes later than last year.
