NICK Knowles’s ex wife Jessica Moor has reportedly gone on a huge rant about "a**holes who don’t pay child support". The 30-year-old penned a lengthy post on her Instagram page on Thursday, which appeared to take a dig at the 55-year-old DIY SOS star. The couple, who have a four-year-old son named Eddie, married in 2012 before separating in January 2016 while she battled cervical cancer. Following her recovery, Jessica decided to give their marriage a second try – but their relationship ended for good in divorce in December 2016. According to MailOnline, Jessica — who runs her own media consultancy —posted this week about the struggles of being a single mum and shared a picture of her with their little boy. She said: "I am not one for offering life advice on too many things but here’s something I feel like I am able to offer one tiny insight of wisdom into. "Next time you are talking to a woman - be it a friend or someone you barely know, … [Read more...] about Nick Knowles’s ex wife Jessica Moor goes on a huge rant about ‘a**holes who don’t pay child support’
Father refuses to pay child support
“DON'T you lot get free flats?” is what a friend said to me when I revealed I was going to be a single mum. To date, I have no free flat to report. I also have taken none of my ex’s money. That was four years ago and it’s sad to think that single mothers are still being tarred with the same tired, old brush by writers such as Nirpal Dhaliwal who seem to think that motherhood brings home the bacon and leaves our exes shivering in disaster relief tents. Just when I thought we were making progress, the tired old trope is back following the news that Danielle Lloyd is “devastated and at her wit's end” because her ex-husband, footballer Jamie O'Hara, has missed paying almost £30,000 in child-support. Here we go again with the rhetoric of the 'undeserving single Mum' leeching off her ex just for the fun of it. I, however, didn’t choose motherhood as much as my ex didn’t choose fatherhood. We both were as culpable at the moment of … [Read more...] about Single mum who battled ex for child support slams men who say they shouldn’t be made to pay
Register for our free newsletter PARENTS who refuse to pay child maintenance face the threat of having their passports confiscated under a new UK Government crackdown. Dads who dodge their responsibilities already face the possibility of prison and having their driving licence removed. But now ministers want to bring in tough new court powers to disqualify non-paying parents from holding or obtaining a UK passport for up to two years. In addition, the DWP will be given new controls to claw back maintenance arrears from any state benefits paid out. Exclusive: Deadbeat dads will not be chased for £3 billion as ministers write off bad debts In its consultation document, the DWP states: “This would send a clear message to paying parents that failing to pay for their children is not an option. We will recover the arrears eventually, even if we have to wait until they claim the state pension.” The idea of disqualifying non-paying parents from holding a passport was … [Read more...] about Ministers threaten to seize passports if child support dodgers refuse to pay up
Register for our free newsletter THE final demise of the Child Support Agency leaves a sour taste all round. There is £3 billion still owed to mothers who struggled to raise their children. Now, that money is unlikely to be given to those who deserve it. The CSA was touted, when launched in 1993, as the body that would force wayward fathers to take responsibility for their children. Abandoned families nodded in agreement, struggling mums were pleased that at last someone was fighting their corner. But while the idea was laudable, the execution didn’t come up to scratch. The cash shortfall is proof of that. Exclusive: Deadbeat dads will not be chased for £3 billion as ministers write off bad debts The CSA was dogged with problems throughout its lifetime. A National Audit Office report as early as 1998 showed a quarter of all CSA child maintenance assessments were wrongly calculated. Various shake-ups and re-organisations over the years tried to fix it, but in … [Read more...] about Sunday Post View: Why did society even need a Child Support Agency?
AN OIL rig worker has been ordered to pay £20,000 in child support for a 13-year-old “daughter” he never knew existed. Ross Mclaughlan, 55, from Stockton-on-Tees, was shocked when he received a letter from the Child Maintenance Service informing him he was dad to a teenage girl, for whom he was financially responsible. Ross, who has never married, insists he has no recollection of the woman who claimed to be the mum of his daughter. Speaking to the Daily Mail he said: “I was so confused and didn’t recognise either the girl’s name or her mother’s, but told myself they’d either got the wrong Ross Mclaughlan, or that someone had targeted me as part of some scam. Either way I thought it would be easily cleared up. “But I was very wrong. It’s eight years since that letter arrived and, despite me never having seen or even spoken to the girl named in it, nor having any contact with her mother, I’ve had £10,000 deducted from … [Read more...] about Man, 55, ordered to pay £20k in child support for 13-year-old ‘daughter’ he never knew existed
