Bride mocked for wedding dress which looks like she’s covered in ‘period blood’
When it comes to weddings, it’s one of the most important fashion choices you’ll ever have to make in your life. In the photo, the woman can be seen wearing a white gown with a red ribbon, while the groom is in a pair of jeans and converses. Sharing a photo of the anonymous bride on the That’s It, I’m Wedding Shaming Facebook group, a user wrote: “I'm all for non-traditional wedding dresses (I wore black to mine). “But this dress just looks gross to me. My first thought was period blood." Along with criticising the bride’s white gown with red tie-dye detail, the user also mocked the couple’s sweet post-ceremony photoshoot at a nearby convenience store. Since it was shared online, the group’s thousands of members rushed to comment on the bride’s fashion choice. Bride’s wedding dress mocked for looking like ‘Lydia’s from Beetlejuice’
A bride has been flamed online as members of a wedding shaming group say her dress is like “Lydia’s from Beetlejuice.” The bright-red, tulle dress was most notable for it’s fire-engine red colour, closely followed by the plunging neckline and large tulle bow. The princess-style dress showed off the brides figure, including her tattoos and cleavage. However, members of the Facebook group " That’s it, I’m Wedding Shaming (non ban-happy edition) " were left less than impressed. One woman shared the snaps with the caption: “Yep, that’s the wedding dress. “Her “dream dress” [shocked emoji]” Some compared the bright dress to that of the character Lydia in the 1988 film Beetlejuice. The lurid red shade and tulle were reminiscent of the Tim Burton style. One woman simply wrote: “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!” Another said: “It’s Lydia’s wedding dress from Beetlejuice.” However, commenting on the dress, some noted that though the colour was not to their taste, … [Read more...] about Bride’s wedding dress mocked for looking like ‘Lydia’s from Beetlejuice’
Inflation crisis will give tech titans even more power
Technology companies are living through a market rout not seen since the embers of the dotcom crash. The Nasdaq has fallen for seven consecutive weeks, the longest losing streak since 2002, and is down 30pc this year. Investment bankers who were busier than ever this time last year during the Spac frenzy are twiddling their thumbs. Bitcoin, once marketed as a hedge against inflation, has crashed too. Elon Musk’s $44bn (£35bn) agreement to buy Twitter a month ago is looking more ill-timed by the day . The superstars at the World Economic Forum in Davos this week are not youthful internet entrepreneurs but nonagenarian diplomats and financiers. A combination of a global inflationary crisis and the subsequent rise in interest rates has been a sharp rejoinder to any tech worker under the age of 35, who has only ever experienced their employers becoming richer and more powerful. Such an environment is starting to take its toll on most. This week, Snapchat’s parent company warned … [Read more...] about Inflation crisis will give tech titans even more power
Fact Check: Did FDA shut down Abbott’s baby formula factory?
The closure of the Abbott Nutrition facility in Michigan has had a devastating impact on the supply of baby formula across the U.S. The shortage, exacerbated by product recalls and supply chain issues, has led to hospitalizations in Atlanta and Memphis. As the situation remains dire for many families across the country, Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert has blamed the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for closing down the Michigan plant. The Claim On May 19, 2022, Boebert alleged the FDA was responsible for the baby formula shortage because it "unfairly closed" the Abbott Nutrition plant in Sturgis, Michigan. Boebert claimed the closure of the plant was "based on charges proven untrue." The Facts The closure of the Abbott facility in Sturgis, Michigan, was one of the most significant factors precipitating in the shortages of baby formula supply in the U.S. The factory closed in February after the FDA issued a warning to consumers not to … [Read more...] about Fact Check: Did FDA shut down Abbott’s baby formula factory?
