Amnesty International has called on FIFA to compensate migrant workers in Qatar ahead of the 2022 World Cup. The NGO has demanded that football's world governing body pay at least $440 million (€416 million) in damages. World Cup host Qatar has been repeatedly criticised for "abusing" migrant workers' rights on construction sites, while FIFA has also been slammed for its response to the allegations. "FIFA should spend at least $440 million to repair the damage suffered by hundreds of thousands of migrant workers who were victims of human rights abuses in Qatar during preparations for the 2022 World Cup," Amnesty said in a statement . The sum -- according to the NGO -- is equivalent to the prize money that will be shared by the 32 countries participating in the World Cup. Amnesty added that the compensation is the "minimum necessary" to compensate the workers and protect them from future violations. TUNIS, Nov 19 - Tunisia have appointed Faouzi Benzarti to take charge at next year's African Nations Cup finals after the dismissal of Portuguese coach Humberto Coelho, officials said on Thursday. Benzarti, 59, agreed to the caretaker role for the tournament in Angola in January, his club Esperance said. Coelho departs after Tunisia's failure to qualify for the World Cup finals in South Africa next year. The north Africans had a two-point lead over Nigeria in their group going into last weekend's final round of matches but lost away in Mozambique on Saturday while Nigeria won in Kenya. Tunisia qualified for the Nations Cup by virtue of finishing second in their group. Benzarti was also a caretaker coach for Tunisia when they hosted the 1994 Nations Cup finals, coming in for their final group game after they had sensationally lost the opening match to Mali.
