Mayor Eric Adams (D-NY) is considering getting back at Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX) by shipping New Yorkers to Texas in retaliation for the Lone Star State sending busloads of illegal aliens to the Big Apple. The feud between the two men has been brewing for weeks, and on Tuesday, Adams kicked it up a notch by saying “for the good of America,” Abbott must be voted out of office. “I’ve already called all my friends in Texas, and told them how to cast their vote,” Adams said in a response to a reporter who asked if he planned to get involved in the Texas gubernatorial election. “I am deeply contemplating taking a busload of New Yorkers to go to Texas and do some good old-fashioned door-knocking,” he added with a smirk. SHAPIRO: Debunking The Myth Of ‘Criminal Justice Reform’ | The Daily Wire
You’ve heard people on the Left say that the biggest problem in the criminal justice system in America is mass incarceration. That we have sentences that are too long. That we have sentences that are disparate. That too many people are in jail. That the police are cracking down on black and brown Americans and throwing them in jail for no reason at all, devastating inner cities. In 2020, members of both political parties gravitated toward a catch phrase encapsulating many of these ideas: Criminal justice reform. As Politico noted in April of that year, “Criminal justice reform is finally having a moment in US politics. Until recent years, candidates usually competed to look tough on crime and paint their opponents as soft. But 2020 is different.” 2020 was the year of Black Lives Matter. It was the year of Defund The Police. It was the year of ending the supposed school-to-prison pipeline. It was the year of George Floyd and Ava Duverney and Kamala Harris. It was also … [Read more...] about SHAPIRO: Debunking The Myth Of ‘Criminal Justice Reform’ | The Daily Wire
Amad Diallo sends message to Erik ten Hag by scoring twice for Manchester United in behind-closed-doors friendly
He didn’t even make Manchester United ’s 20-man squad for the opening weekend defeat to Brighton but Amad Diallo is keeping his head up at Old Trafford. The 20-year-old joined the Red Devils in 2020 from Atlanta, in a move that could eventually be worth up to £36million. However, the Ivorian has been starved of chances at Old Trafford and has made just nine appearances during his two years at the club. Diallo impressed during a loan spell with Rangers last season but he returned to the club this summer in a bid to impress Ten Hag. However, after scoring against Rayo Vallecano in the last friendly before the season kicked off, Diallo was at least hoping to form part of the squad against Brighton. But the winger was left disappointed as he wasn’t even named on the bench for the visit of the Seagulls, despite injury to Anthony Martial. After missing out on the game, Diallo was one of a number of first-team players that played in a 5-1 win against Halifax in a … [Read more...] about Amad Diallo sends message to Erik ten Hag by scoring twice for Manchester United in behind-closed-doors friendly

Donald Trump and the Mar-a-Lago FBI raid—What we do know, what we don’t
America is reeling in shock this week after former President Donald Trump 's Florida residence, Mar-a-Lago, was raided by the FBI . It is understood to be part of an ongoing investigation into the potentially unlawful removal and destruction of classified White House records after Trump left office in January 2021. While there may be very strong grounds for the investigation, little to no formal information has been shared by the Department of Justice or the FBI, with social media abuzz with conjecture . Claims range from "deep state" conspiracy theories to the possibility that Trump may no longer be able to run for office in 2024 . Cristiano Ronaldo misses Man Utd’s behind-closed-doors friendly vs Halifax amid doubts he’ll be fit for Brentford clash
CRISTIANO RONALDO sat out again as Manchester United took on Halifax Town in a behind-closed-doors friendly. New boss Erik ten Hag used the Carrington clash with United's National League neighbours to build up the fitness of his fringe stars. But Ronaldo was not among them, despite missing almost all of pre-season and only featuring off the bench in Sunday's calamitous Premier League opener against Brighton . The wantaway Portuguese star was left out of Ten Hag 's starting line-up for the 2-1 loss to the Seagulls after a summer of uncertainty over his future. It was a nightmare start for United , who eventually turned to the forward in the 53rd-minute but he was unable to inspire a comeback. Ten Hag admitted after the loss, in his first competitive game as boss, that United looked better with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner up front.
