The Whisperers are a strange gang of survivors who use the skin of zombies to disguise themselves so they go unnoticed. They consider themselves animals and don't want anything to do with humanity or civilisation as imposed by man. The Whisperers also consider humans to be animals who tried to pretend to be something different and more elevated. They welcome the apocalypse as a chance to restore what they believe to be the natural order of things. The group are nomadic and never stay in the same place for more than a few days.
