Energy boosting diet plan

Your energy bills could soar EVEN higher to cover costs of collapsed Bulb Energy

June 28, 2022 by www.mirror.co.uk

Energy bills could soar even higher as customers face forking out to run collapsed firm Bulb. Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng admitted he did not know if the £1bn-a-year cost would fall on a buyer for the firm, the Treasury, or all customers’ bills. Raising bills to cover the costs of propping up Bulb Energy, which failed in November, would be another blow to Brits as bills hit £2,800 a year this winter. But in a glimmer of hope, Mr Kwarteng also suggested electricity bills could be cut in future, by no longer pegging them to the price of gas. He said: “It cannot be the case forever that we can link directly our electricity prices to gas prices when gas is only a portion of the electricity generating mix.” Annual electricity and gas bills are already expected to hit £2,800 a year from October as the price cap is raised. Alongside this, the £2.7bn cost of 28 suppliers collapsing will be spread across customers' bills nationwide - adding about £94 per home. A deadline … [Read more...] about Your energy bills could soar EVEN higher to cover costs of collapsed Bulb Energy

Hamilton's peerless Mercedes team have dominated the new campaign, finishing first and second at all but one of the opening six rounds. The Briton, with four victories under his belt, is 17 points clear of team-mate Valtteri Bottas and 55 ahead of Ferrari 's Sebastian Vettel in the championship standings. And world champions Mercedes are poised to strike another blow to their rivals with the planned introduction of their first fresh engine of the season at Montreal's high-powered Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. South Canterbury community calling retiring District Court Judge Joanna Maze

July 1, 2022 by www.stuff.co.nz

Retiring Judge Joanna Maze, is looking forward to losing her anonymity in the South Canterbury community she loves but has remained at arm’s length from for the past 11 years. Maze, Timaru's resident District Court judge since September 2011, finished her final court sitting on Friday with "a courtesy farewell between bench and bar" and told The Timaru Herald she made the decision to retire "when I knew that I was beginning to run out of energy ... and a sense that I wanted to have some time left still to do things for myself". "It's a job where you have to maintain a degree of separateness in your life, and that does suit my personality, and this has been a wonderful community to be part of, but I'm ready to be more part of it and that isn't entirely consistent with being a judge in a small community,’’ she said. "South Canterbury really is a delightful community. The people have good values, it is a caring community, it is an ideal size. It's more like a big village really. … [Read more...] about South Canterbury community calling retiring District Court Judge Joanna Maze

Doctors told me I was ‘just fat’ – my serious medical condition was missed

June 30, 2022 by metro.co.uk

As soon as I got my lipoedema diagnosis last year, tears rolled down my cheeks. For years, doctors told me that I was ‘just fat’. But finally a medical professional had confirmed my disproportionately large legs were a medical condition – an extremely painful chronic disease that causes fibrotic fat to accumulate in the lower part of the body, over which the patient has very little to zero control. It was the validation I’d waited nearly 30 years to receive. When I was 12 years old, I began noticing distinct changes in my body. I quit wearing shorts or swimsuits and avoided all activities where I was expected to show my legs. Whenever I looked at them, I felt deeply ashamed and disgusted with myself. By age 14, I was so ashamed of my big legs that I convinced my parents to let me have a free consultation with a plastic surgeon. Back then, I was 5 foot 6 inches (170cm) tall and weighed roughly 135 pounds (61kg), the majority of which were within my legs. I was so … [Read more...] about Doctors told me I was ‘just fat’ – my serious medical condition was missed
