On April 4, 2018, companies had to submit a report on just how big the difference in pay is between men and women. And it means there has never been a better time for workers to ask for a pay rise. What was the Gender Pay Gap Report? UK companies with 250 or more employees had until midnight on April 4, 2018 to publish their gender pay gap data. Of those that published data, 78 per cent pay men more than women, 13 per cent pay women more and 8 per cent said they had no gender pay gap. If you’re working at a company with a significant difference in pay between men and women, now could be the best time to take confidence to ask for what you deserve. A RAFT of top celebrities were blasted this week after it emerged they are planning to charge fans for a selfie. Visitors to this year’s London Comic Con — an annual event for people who think Star Trek is real — have been told that it’ll cost £85 for a snap with former Doctor Who, Christopher Eccleston. Meat Loaf, meanwhile, will be £45, Pearl Mackie is £35 and the old socialist, Blackadder’s Tony Robinson, is £25. All animals are equal, it seems. Except him. Mind you, all are some way behind Michael J Fox, who once starred in a documentary about time travel. At the event in 2015 he charged an eye-watering £445. Although this did include a mug and an autograph. Doubtless you are all disgusted by this. Me too. I never charge when people ask for a selfie with me. I just tell them to bugger off. GMB presenters and Lorraine reveal before and after shots following Helen Mirren's no make up selfie on International Women's … [Read more...] about Meat Loaf, Christopher Eccleston and Pearl Mackie plan to charge for selfies — don’t ask for a picture with me
A DAD has revealed how his son asked him for a lift just hours before a drink-driver killed him as he walked to a 16th birthday party with pals. Ian Rice told Sun Online he was sick in bed when son Harry, 17, asked him if he could drop him off to see his friends. Harry was killed alongside best friends Josh McGuinness and George Wilkinson, both 16, as they walked to a friend’s birthday in Hayes, West London, on January 26 this year. Killer driver Jaynesh Chudasama had been downing booze in a supermarket car park before he slammed into the three teens. Speaking to Sun Online just moments after the driver was caged for 13 years, Ian revealed the haunting final words his son said to him. He said: "Harry actually asked me, and I hate to say this, ‘but dad can you run me down the road I’m going to meet the boys. "Unfortunately I had just got the flu and I was in bed that day and I said ‘Harry…’ and before I could say anything else he was out the door. … [Read more...] about Dad’s anguish over being sick in bed when son was killed by drink-driver just hours after being asked for a lift
