A PARTY of trippers set off on a mystery coach tour from Nottingham a few days ago. It took them to the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery in Stoke where they found the place closed for refurbishment. The coach operator said : "We should have looked at the website to see if they were open. I wouldn't say people were disappointed, because they didn't know where they were going, so it was all taken in good spirit." AND it could have been worse. Shaun Evans has said he feels “lucky” to have bagged his role in Endeavour and is hopeful the crime drama’s run will continue. The actor plays DS Endeavour Morse in the ITV programme, a spin-off from Inspector Morse. The fifth season is set to air in February and Evans said it “definitely sets up more for a return”. “There are lots of questions to answer, but there are lots of factors involved so you just take this job one day at a time,” he said. “I’ve been very lucky to play this role. I’m amazed we’ve done so many so far. “I feel very grateful that Endeavour is still popular and doing well. DEBUT novelist Cara Hunter is living the dream after a publishers’ bidding war for her crime stories. Penguin is publishing three novels by Ms Hunter following a hotly contested auction. Close to Home, set in Oxford and featuring DI Adam Fawley, is already a bestseller and a second thriller, In the Dark, is due out in July. Oxford University graduate Ms Hunter, who lives in North Oxford, said she was delighted with the reaction so far to her debut novel, a mystery focusing on the disappearance of an eight-year-old girl called Daisy Mason at a party.
