It was an absolute pleasure to see so many faces from the past, as well as some of our most junior members in attendance. We were delighted to re-elect Mr John Lougher of Ty Tanglwyst as our president.John has been an incredible asset to us over the years and brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm which we couldn’t possibly do without. We then welcomed Lloyd Harris Thomas and Tom Edwards to our club leader bench, serving alongside Jon Thomas and the club’s backbone, Charlotte Thomas. Inside look at the Russian propaganda factory as it operates in Estonia
The information, obtained by a trifecta of media companies: investigative site Re:baltica, Estonian daily Postimees and US internet media company Buzzfeed, obtained under freedom of information laws, has been reported at length by Re:baltica, what follows is a redacted form thereof.The Russian government has long been funding several apparently-independent news sites in the Central and Eastern European (CEE) region. The recipient sites apparently propagate pro-Kremlin stories, at the latter's behest. Funding for such Russian-sponsored sites in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, has been channelled through companies in Serbia and Cyprus, it is reported.Raul Rebane, a leading strategic communications expert in Estonia, stated that the activities constitute "systemic information-related activities on foreign territory. ‘Russ’ culture taken over by business
August 9, 2018 Horror stories about Norwegian high school seniors called “russ” going amok in southern climes this summer have been dominating local media. Calls are now going out for their schools to take control of Norway’s rowdy russ culture, and out of the hands of commercial business interests. The “group mentality,” illustrated here by the overalls high school seniors wear during the russ party season, along with commercialization by professional profit-oriented players, are said to have changed the so-called “russ culture” in Norway. On August 9, the agricultural sector will take to social media to showcase its work to feed the UK.Run by agricultural newspaper Farmers Guardian and sponsored by Morrisons, 24 Hours in Farming is the farming industry’s biggest online event. For one day each year, British farmers, growers and farming businesses use social media platforms to share posts, photos and videos about the work they do, using the hashtag #Farm24.
