Paul McCartney fans have called for ticketing systems to be reviewed after finding tickets for his ECHO Arena show in Liverpool were on sale for 10x the face value price. The concert for the Beatles legend sold out in minutes and tickets appeared on third party ticketing websites such as eBay, Stubhub and Viagogo, for more than double the face value. Despite this, the ECHO Arena said the ticketing queuing system was the 'fairest way' to buy tickets but fans are calling for something to be done. One Twitter user said: “PLEASE do something about the numerous touts already selling tickets at outrageous prices preventing genuine fans from getting tix” While another added: “So I wait patiently on the @EchoArena website to order @PaulMcCartney tickets, yet sells out fast. Are you heading to a show at the ECHO Arena ? If so, you may need somewhere to park your car. We have put together a list of public and council run car parks which you can use if you are heading into the city centre. Some of them are less than a 15 minute walk away from the venue. Note that The Waterfront Car park close by to the ECHO Arena remains closed, following the fire last New Year's Eve. Victoria Street Car Park This multi-storey car park is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and it has 333 spaces - including three electric vehicle charging spaces and 13 disabled spaces. There are also 15 motorcycle spaces and 18 pedal cycle spaces. The height restrictions are 2.1m. It costs £2 per hour up to 12 hours and it's £13 up to 24 hours. Paul McCartney will be returning to Liverpool this year for the first UK live tour date in three years. Earlier this week Paul announced he’d be making his eagerly anticipated return to the road with his new Freshen Up tour and now we can confirm he will be bringing it to the city. It seems the ex-Beatle can’t keep away from Liverpool, as he returned with actor James Corden to film a Carpool Karaoke episode with a surprise gig in The Philharmonic Pub. The Echo Arena has been sending out some very cryptic tweets today which have left a lot of music fans scratching their heads. This morning the arena shared a photograph of the Eleanor Rigby statue on Stanley Street with a very familiar looking bass next to it and the caption “Who is it for?”. Another two tweets were published this afternoon showing the same distinctive bass in different locations across the city. The photographs are posted alongside the captions of, when I saw her standing there’ and ‘you know I feel alright’. Many Beatles fans are picking up on the fact that the instrument is a Hofner violin bass which is known to be a favourite of Sir Paul McCartney. One user said: “ARGH! Echo Arena are sharing photos of Paul McCartney's bass around different Beatle locations.
