From Digital Spy Netflix have dropped the first season of their reimagining of '60s classic Lost In Space – check out our review here. The show, starring Molly Parker (House Of Cards), Toby Stephens (Black Sails) and Parker Posey (Superman Returns), is far removed from the campiness of the original but it does include a fantastic Easter egg for fans of the Irwin Allen show that began back in 1965. Before we continue, there's a spoiler coming up so stop reading now if you don't want the surprise ruined. As you may already know, the role of nefarious Dr Smith, originally a man in the '60s series, is now played by Parker Posey. But, as we quickly discover, her character isn't really Dr Smith at all: Posey is posing as a Dr Smith. From Digital Spy Rampage video game fans will surely be keeping their eyes peeled for any neat references to the original when they see the new movie adaptation. Well, luckily director Brad Peyton is at hand to guide us through all the things to look out for, especially the "woman in the red dress". "There's little Easter eggs that I put in the movie that reference the game, like the woman in the red dress, but there's largely no narrative," he revealed to Digital Spy. "The woman in the red dress is, to me, the ultimate Easter egg. Part of the challenge with this was balancing an adaptation, and doing an original mythology and plot and storyline." Ready Player One is jam packed full of Easter Eggs...even ones that Spielberg worked to keep out. The idea of Ready Player One was to adapt the book for the big screen, pulling on the 80s nostalgia to create something that kids and adults would both want to watch. But the director didn't want his own movies referenced, but a few got by him - including the little Gremlins. We've gathered as many references and Easter Eggs as we can - there's more being found everyday - covering homages, nods in dialogue and characters appearances. With so many, you, and even Spielberg, would be forgiven for not catching them all. The Gremlin reference was all thanks to the effects and production design team who, despite Spielberg's instructions, popped in a nod to his movie.
