A champion ski mountaineer has died after falling from the Mont Blanc massif in the Alps. Adele Milloz, 26, had stepped away from professional sports to train as a mountain guide. She and a companion, aged 30, had been climbing the Aiguille du Peigne, France, on Friday before the incident occurred. Other mountaineers saw the fall and raised the alarm, and then they themselves had to be lifted off the mountain as they were in shock. Ms Milloz was an experienced climber having formerly competed in ski mountaineering, or skimo. This involves climbing tricky peaks before skiing down them. The sport is set to make its Winter Olympics debut at the 2026 competition at Milan Cortina. The woman had been taken to Dundee's Ninewells Hospital with serious injuries following the crash at Ralia on Wednesday afternoon. Police said the 46-year-old died on Sunday. Two passengers in the car - a man, 45, and woman, 75 - died at the scene of the collision, near Newtonmore. Folajimi "Jimi" Olubunmi-Adewole, 20, was on his way home from work in April 2021 when at about midnight he went into the water with another would-be rescuer, Joaquim Garcia. The woman and Mr Garcia were saved by the coastguard and marine police but Mr Olubunmi-Adewole could not be found. His body was recovered about six hours later, near London Bridge. Assistant coroner Dr Julian Morris concluded at Inner London Coroner's Court: "This was a sad loss of a young man who wanted to help, in an emergency, a member of the public who had fallen into the Thames." Mary Laws, 67, who owns the land in Bletsoe, Bedfordshire, where the plane came down, said it was to honour their bravery. Members of the 306th Bombardment Group died on a flying mission from Thurleigh Airfield on 26 April 1944. An exhibition about their story is going on show at St Mary's Church . The collision happened at around 16:00 BST on the Castledawson Road, police said. Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision.
