The Prince of Wales enjoyed a “very emotional” first meeting with his granddaughter, Lilibet, a senior royal aide has revealed. Both Prince Charles, 73, and the Duchess of Cornwall, 74, were said to have been “absolutely thrilled” to see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their children earlier this month, when they travelled from California for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. It comes after the Duke of Sussex described feeling let down by his father , revealing that he had stopped taking his calls at one stage. The Sussexes left the monarchy in crisis after using an interview with Oprah Winfrey to accuse an unnamed royal of being racist towards their son, Archie, before he was born. They also accused the wider institution of failing to help Meghan when she had suicidal thoughts. But a senior royal source said it had been “wonderful” to have the Sussexes back in the UK. “It was fantastic to see them. The royal's sizable personal household boasts 30 full-time-equivalent staff members in the Private Secretaries Office, including an equerry and administrative staff, as well as four chefs, two chauffeurs, three dressers and a butler. The release of the review—which is done annually by the prince's office detailing the work and expenditure of Charles and wife, Camilla—has gained increased attention this year as it follows criticism of the royal after reports were published claiming he had accepted €3 million in cash donations from a Qatari businessman for his charities. Income From Two Key Sources The financial report for 2021-2022 revealed that the prince received over £24 million ($29 million) in income and funding primarily through two key sources; the … [Read more...] about Prince Charles’ 101-strong staff includes butlers, 4 chefs and 3 dressers

Prince Charles had a ‘very emotional’ first meeting with his granddaughter Lili and a special reunion with grandson Archie during Harry and Meghan’s trip to the UK, a royal source has said. The heir to the throne and wife Camilla were ‘absolutely thrilled’ to see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their children when they travelled briefly from California for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations earlier this month. Harry, who quit as a senior working royal in 2020, has had a troubled relationship with Charles, telling how he felt let down and how his father stopped taking his calls at one stage. The Sussexes left the monarchy in crisis after using an interview with Oprah Winfrey to accuse an unnamed royal of being racist towards their son before he was born, and the wider institution of failing to help Meghan when she had suicidal thoughts. Prince Charles took more than 20 private flights within the UK ‘to avoid being stuck in traffic’

June 30, 2022 by www.telegraph.co.uk

The Prince of Wales took more than 20 private flights, including several helicopters, within the UK last year in order to avoid being stuck in traffic, it has emerged. The heir to the throne is said to be “allergic” to travelling by helicopter, one of the most polluting modes of travel. However, the annual Sovereign Grant report revealed that he took several flights during the last financial year, including hopping between engagements in Northern Ireland and Wales and a 70-mile trip from London to RAF Brize Norton, in order to catch a charter flight to Jordan. The Prince and the Duchess of Cornwall also appear to have flown separately to Wales by helicopter from their respective homes, Highgrove in Gloucestershire and Ray Mill in Wiltshire. The couple took more than 15 charter flights, including to and from Belfast, and multiple journeys from residence to residence - including Glasgow to Northolt last July and Northolt to Marham to Aberdeen in December. It comes as the Duchy … [Read more...] about Prince Charles took more than 20 private flights within the UK ‘to avoid being stuck in traffic’
