More info Canine transmissible venereal tumours (CTVT) are infectious and can spread when male dogs sniff females. Study author Dr Andrea Strakova, a vet from Cambridge University, said: "We found that a very significant proportion of the nose or mouth tumours were in males." Bedford explosion hero fears neighbour is dead after saving dog from smoke-filled flat

A hero survivor of the Bedford gas explosion fears her neighbour may be dead after she broke into her flat and saved her dog. Karina Caetano rescued the Chihuahua after hearing a huge explosion above her two-bedroom apartment in Redwood Grove, Bedford, yesterday. The 24-year-old pulled the animal out of a smoke-filled bedroom but she is now terrified her neighbour was in one of the other rooms. No-one has heard from the resident since a gas explosion tore apart the complex , killing one person. Bedfordshire Police has warned that more bodies could be found in the building's ruins over the coming days. Baton Rouge man found dead on Gilman Road in Lafayette was killed in a hit-and-run, police say

A Baton Rouge man whose body was found along Gilman Road Monday was killed after being struck by a vehicle, Lafayette Police say. The victim, 37-year-old Christopher Smith, died after suffering blunt force injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle, his autopsy report showed. Officers are now investigating his death as a hit-and-run fatality, Lafayette Police spokesperson Sgt. Robin Green said. Smith’s body was found in the 200 block of W. Gilman Road around 3:20 a.m. after he was seen lying unresponsive in the roadway. The location of the hit-and-run was incorrectly listed as the 500 block of Gilman Road in initial police reports, Green said. ‘We’re actually really nice people’: Maligned Pāpāmoa freedom campers say they’re trying to combat cost of living

Pāpāmoa residents are frustrated by freedom campers overstaying in a beachside reserve carpark. The campers are taking up most of the available parking space at the Taylor Reserve carpark in Pāpāmoa East, according to resident Jayne Darby. Darby said the campers leave their belongings around which included car tyres, timber and bongs for drug smoking.Darby regularly uses the carpark when walking her dog and said on her last visit there were eight vehicles using the carpark for camping.
