The story behind Steven Gerrard's legendary Liverpool career is to be laid bare in a new Amazon documentary. "Make Us Dream will chronicle the Rangers manager's 26-year association with the Anfield club and is set for a big screen debut on November 15. The documentary will later be available on Amazon's Prime Video service and is their latest offering after the hugely successful "All Or Nothing: Manchester City" documentary earlier this year. Having joined Liverpool at just eight years old, the film will tell the story of Gerrard's trophy-laden career that included two FA Cups, three League Cups, one Champions League and one UEFA Super Cup. The film is produced by James Gay-Rees, the man behind previous projects about motor racing legend Ayrton Senna and musician Amy Winehouse. New Stacey Dooley documentary to explore teen homelessness for Children in Need
Stacey Dooley MBE has stepped away from the Strictly floor for her new Investigates documentary. The broadcaster, who is currently impressing viewers on the current series of Strictly Come Dancing, is best known for her hard-hitting and insightful series. Her new film, Stacey Dooley: The Young And Homeless, will air on BBC One on November 13 at 10.45pm as part of the channels week of special BBC Children in Need programmes. The documentary will see Stacey uncover stories from the UK's homeless teenagers - including here in Manchester. Netflix orders Prince documentary series
Netflix has hired Oscar-nominated filmmaker Ava DuVernay to direct a documentary series about late pop icon Prince, the streaming giant told AFP Tuesday. Little is known so far about the project focused on the singer, who died in 2016, other than DuVernay's involvement and that the series will have several episodes. Netflix confirmed its existence in a brief statement, following reports from Hollywood press outlets Variety and Deadline. DuVernay earned an Oscar nod in 2017 in the best documentary feature category for "13th," a look at the prison system and racial inequality in America produced by Netflix. She also is known for her work on "Selma," the story of slain civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr, and "A Wrinkle in Time," the big-budget adaptation of Madeleine L'Engel's children's novel.
