Which celebrities have died so far in 2019? Gene Okerlund, 76 WWE legend and Hall of Famer Mean Gene Okerlund passed away at age 76 on January 3. Gene was most recognisable for his backstage interviews working with both the WWE and formerly WCW. The WWE confirmed the death of Okerlund on Twitter, which came one year after his last appearance on TV. Okerlund began his career with WWE in 1984, where he would become notorious for his interviews with the likes of Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, and The Ultimate Warrior. Dean Ford, 72 The frontman of pop group Marmalade passed away on January 2. Dean died at the age of 72 after a lifetime recording music. After months of hostile court battles, Mel B has finally been granted a divorce from Stephen Belafonte. The Spice Girls star took to Instagram today (18 December) to share an emotional message with her fans. She posted a picture with the quote: "After my father's death nothing could touch me anymore." Rachael Bland talked about the fear which comes from cancer, and even pictured her own funeral in dark times. The broadcaster, 40, died of breast cancer on Wednesday 5 September, almost two years after her diagnosis and days after she revealed she was given only days to live. She chronicled her journey of living with and getting treatment from cancer with her friends in podcast You, Me and the Big C, as well as in her blog, where she explained how it felt to live with "the fear" of death, and admitted to picturing her funeral in dark moments. In her blog, which helped others going through similar treatment to cope, she described her sadness at possibly missing the 2019 series of Line of Duty and how she made sure she saw her favourite band, The Killers, again in case the time would be her last. The 'Thank U, Next', singer will be kicking off an American tour in Spring 2019, but she's yet to announce European and UK dates. Following huge success with album 'Sweetener', the pop super star has had a turbulent couple of months following the tragic death of ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, calling off her engagement with Pete Davidson, all of which only just a year after the devastating terrorist attack at one of her Manchester concerts.
