May 26, 2022 by es.euronews.com

May 27, 2022 by pt.euronews.com

May 26, 2022 by pt.euronews.com

"Vemos aliados a ajudar a Ucrânia. [Read more...] about NATO não faz “literalmente nada”

May 26, 2022 by es.euronews.com

May 27, 2022 by de.euronews.com

[Read more...] about Alexander De Croo: “Die Ukraine verführt die Welt mit ihrer Geschichte”

Europe risks pyrrhic victory over Putin with Russia sanctions

June 21, 2022 by www.telegraph.co.uk

If Vladimir Putin had any doubts over who his friends and foes are, he just needed to scan the room at Russia’s annual business summit in St Petersburg last week. JPMorgan boss Jamie Dimon and European leaders including Nicolas Sarkozy have attended the “Russian Davos” in previous years. But it was down to a roster of oligarchs, Russian ministers and Chinese president Xi Jinping to fill the programme for this year’s more subdued affair as Western delegates boycotted en masse. In a defiant keynote address delayed by hackers, Putin claimed the “economic blitzkrieg” of sanctions has backfired on the West and were “more harmful” to Europe’s economies than Russia’s. “The weaponry of sanctions is a double-edged sword ,” he said, claiming that “gloomy predictions about the Russian economy’s future didn’t come true”. As Russian businesses stare down the barrel of a huge two-year recession, many delegates last week would have raised eyebrows at Putin’s upbeat assessment - … [Read more...] about Europe risks pyrrhic victory over Putin with Russia sanctions

Sir David Attenborough has perfect gift for Prince George – a 23 million-year-old giant shark tooth

September 26, 2020 by www.telegraph.co.uk

When visiting two future kings at home, it may be difficult to come up with a suitable gift to mark the occasion. Fortunately Sir David Attenborough had just the thing in his pocket: the tooth of a 23 million-year-old giant shark he found on holiday. Sir David has personally presented Prince George with the treasure, which he found in the 1960s during a family trip to Malta. The young Prince, who like many small boys has a fascination with fossils, appeared thrilled with the gift, shown beaming in a photograph and studying it proudly. Sir David, 94, visited Kensington Palace this week for an outdoor screening of his upcoming film with the Duke of Cambridge. But the opportunity to see their broadcasting hero proved too much of a lure for the whole family, as the Duchess and three Cambridge children joined the party in the garden after school. A photograph capturing the moment they met, while adhering to social distancing, shows Princess Charlotte, five, with her hands … [Read more...] about Sir David Attenborough has perfect gift for Prince George – a 23 million-year-old giant shark tooth

Von der Leyen: Moszkva az élelmiszerexportot is fegyverként használja

May 24, 2022 by hu.euronews.com

[Read more...] about Von der Leyen: Moszkva az élelmiszerexportot is fegyverként használja

The Two People Biden Must Remember in Israel and Saudi Arabia

June 27, 2022 by www.theatlantic.com

W hen President Joe Biden travels to Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the Palestinian territories in July, he should keep two names in his mind at every step: Jamal Khashoggi and Shireen Abu Akleh. Both spoke truth to power, and both were killed in the course of their work as journalists. And though they were killed in drastically different circumstances, both represented the promise of a different Middle East. The Biden administration says that it centers its foreign policy on the battle between democracy and autocracy, and on the need for a rules-based international order. The reality, however, is that the United States has not-so-democratic allies and outright-autocratic friends. The key for the U.S. is to make sure that it uses its leverage not to preach, lecture, or condescend, but to engage in a wider conversation, convincing these countries of the necessity and the benefit for all of abiding by basic universal values. Biden’s trip, then, is about more than the price of a barrel of … [Read more...] about The Two People Biden Must Remember in Israel and Saudi Arabia
