Mr Potato Head toys have been around since 1952, back when families had to supply their own actual potato to play with it, adding plastic hands, feet, eyes and other accessories to the spud. Then came Mrs Potato Head, who had feminised plastic pieces in the kit, such as handbags and high heels as well as Mr Potato Head family sets. The toy has come along way over the years and it seems it is still changing. That's because Hasbro, the company behind the potato-shaped toy, have announced they are giving the brand a "modern makeover" and making it gender-neutral. In a bid to break away from "gender norms" the brand will simply be renamed 'Potato Head'. This change is set to appear on boxes later this year. Kimberly Boyd, who works on the Potato Head brand at Hasbro explained that the company is giving the toy a makeover as they want to stop leaning so heavily into "traditional family structure". As such Hasbro will also be selling Potato Head boxed sets that don’t … [Read more...] about Mr Potato Head gets new gender-neutral name as part of modern makeover after 70 years
Women spend half an hour a week on skin care for face but 5 minutes on rest of body
Women will spend half an hour a week on skin care for their face, but less than five minutes on the rest of their body. Research of 2,000 women revealed 76 per cent place the most importance on looking after their face. Almost a fifth (17 per cent) spend more than 30 minutes a week on facial skin care, but just under five minutes on their legs (41 per cent) and arms (45 per cent). More than a quarter (28 per cent) also spend at least £20 a month on beauty products for their face, compared with just seven per cent spending the same amount on skin care for their legs. Dr Ewoma Ukeleghe, cosmetic and medical doctor and ambassador for Venus, which commissioned the research, said: "I see first-hand just how often people disregard the skin on their bodies and routinely forget to nourish their skin from the chin downwards. What is your view? Have your say in the comments section "While most of us will think nothing of spending most of our time and money on our facial skin; our … [Read more...] about Women spend half an hour a week on skin care for face but 5 minutes on rest of body
