Netflix has created its own hilarious version of TikTok called Fast Laughs

· March 4, 2021 ·

NETFLIX has launched its own TikTok style feature that lets you scroll through funny clips of its content. Fast Laughs is a feature for the Netflix app that appears very similar to TikTok or Instagram Reels and encourages users to swipe through short video clips. Netflix said: "Wanna see something funny? On Netflix, this one little question opens up lots of possibilities from hilarious series and films to laugh-out-loud stand-up specials. "That’s why we’re launching a new Fast Laughs feature for mobile devices. Fast Laughs offers a full-screen feed of funny clips from our big comedy catalog including films ( Murder Mystery ), series ( Big Mouth ), sitcoms ( The Crew ) and stand-up from comedians like Kevin Hart and Ali Wong. "You access the feed through your bottom navigation menu by clicking on the Fast Laughs tab. "Clips will start playing - when one ends another begins, to keep the laughs coming." The service is now avaliable for users of the iOS Netflix … [Read more...] about Netflix has created its own hilarious version of TikTok called Fast Laughs

‘Game changer’ map reveals precious UK landmarks most at risk from climate change

· March 5, 2021 ·

A "game changer" climate map has been drawn up by the National Trust, showing the threat extreme heat, humidity and landslides will have on its most precious British properties and landscapes. The map is based on a "worst-case scenario" of a failure to drive down carbon emissions over the coming decades, but is intended to be a flagging tool to highlight potential hazards surrounding a heritage or countryside site. It has been drawn up to help the charity intervene to protect its sites, outlining the effect posed by climate impacts including rising heat and humidity, landslides, high winds, and floods, and how they could change by 2060. The map reveals that, without action on emissions, the number of National Trust sites in areas at the highest threat level from climate impacts could more than treble from 3,371 (5%) to 11,462 (17%) over the next 40 years. And the number of sites at high or medium risk of climate-related hazards could increase from 20,457 (30% of … [Read more...] about ‘Game changer’ map reveals precious UK landmarks most at risk from climate change

Legendary TV show You Are What You Eat is being rebooted — without Gillian McKeith

· March 5, 2021 ·

IT has been nearly 15 years since Gillian McKeith became known as the Awful Poo Lady for looking at the contents of dieters’ toilets to help them shift weight. And I can reveal that the classic telly format You Are What You Eat is making a long-awaited comeback. But it will not be on Channel 4 or fronted by Gillian. I’m told legendary TV presenter Trisha Goddard , who is making a big UK comeback following a decade in the States, will host the reboot. It will air on Channel 5 later this year. A source said: “It’s a great format and one that was really well received back in the day. “The production company, CPL, were keen to breathe new life into it, and who better to do that than Trisha, who is so well loved and respected by viewers. “They hope she will bring a fresh impetus to a popular show. And Channel 5 were delighted to give her and the series a new home.” Trisha — signed to leading UK agency InterTalent — said: “I am thrilled to have been asked to … [Read more...] about Legendary TV show You Are What You Eat is being rebooted — without Gillian McKeith

James Arthur lands his first acting role in upcoming film after taking secret lessons during lockdown

· March 4, 2021 ·

JAMES ARTHUR has spent the last eight years dominating the charts – but in 2021 he’s planning to take over the box office too. The British singer-songwriter has revealed he has landed his first acting role in an upcoming film after taking secret acting lessons and auditioning in lockdown. In an exclusive interview, he said: “There’s actually a couple of really exciting projects that I’m involved in and we’re trying to get up and running in terms of my acting. There’s going to be some acting stuff coming up. “I’ve done a few lessons and shot a few casting videos and I’m choosing between a couple of agents at the moment.” James stayed tight-lipped on details of the production, but when asked if shooting would begin this year, he teased: “I think there’s a really good chance that it will, yeah. It’s a film. Actually, film and TV, because there are two things going on. “There’s a really interesting idea we’ve got for a TV show. I’m sure you’re going to hear some stuff in … [Read more...] about James Arthur lands his first acting role in upcoming film after taking secret lessons during lockdown

Newly found ‘super-Earth’ could hold key to finding alien life

· March 5, 2021 ·

A "super-Earth" located just 26 light years away could hold the key to finding extraterrestrial life. At 430C (806F) and bathed in radiation, there is unlikely to be life nestled between the rivers of lava which are thought to burn across Gliese 486 b's surface. But - like Earth - the planet is made of rock and thought to have a metallic core. And what gases are present or absent in its atmosphere could help scientists when looking at other planets for signs of life in space . "We say that Gliese 486 b will instantaneously become the Rosetta Stone of exoplanetology - at least for Earth-like planets," said astrophysicist and study co-author Jose Caballero of Centro de Astrobiologia in Spain, referring to the ancient stone slab that helped experts decipher Egyptian hieroglyphs. Advertisement The chemical composition of the atmosphere of Gliese 486 b could provide a contrast point for scientists to compare other planets to - any oxygen, carbon dioxide … [Read more...] about Newly found ‘super-Earth’ could hold key to finding alien life
