BORIS Johnson hinted the north is set for a major infrastructure boost to railroad the nation to build back from the pandemic. The US House of Representatives approved a $1.9 trillion (€1.57 trillion) coronavirus stimulus fund in the early hours of Saturday morning. Lawmakers passed the bill — aimed at giving money to individuals, businesses, states and cities hit hard by the pandemic — on a narrow, near party-line vote of 219 to 212. President Joe Biden has been pushing for the relief package, saying it will be used to stimulate the economy and create new jobs. All Republican representatives voted against the bill, which will now go to the Senate, where many progressive Democrats are also keen on resuscitating a drive for an increase to the minimum wage. Captain Sir Tom Moore’s funeral today (Saturday) will include a flypast from a Second World War-era plane and a a military guard of honour. Although the service will be attended by just eight members of his immediate family - his two daughters Lucy and Hannah Ingram-Moore, four grandchildren and his sons-in-law – his relatives have made sure it will be exactly as Captain Tom had planned. His daughter Lucy Teixeira revealed yesterday the service will be “quite spectacular”. The Second World War-era plane will soar over Captain Sir Tom Moore’s funeral service in honour of the veteran and NHS charity fundraiser.
