Shamima Begum: IS bride should not be allowed to return to the UK to fight citizenship decision, court rules

· February 26, 2021 ·

IS bride Shamima Begum should not be allowed to return to the UK to fight a decision to strip her of British citizenship, the Supreme Court has ruled. The unanimous decision - with all five justices in agreement - comes six years after the then 15-year-old left with friends to join the Islamic State group. Now aged 21, Begum was one of three schoolgirls from Bethnal Green in east London who travelled to Syria. Her British citizenship was revoked on national security grounds shortly after she was found, nine months pregnant, in a Syrian refugee camp in February 2019. She had already lost two children and the third died shortly after being born. Advertisement Begum challenged the Home Office's decision to remove her British citizenship and wanted to be allowed to return to the UK to pursue that appeal. Initially, the Court of Appeal said she should be allowed to return to fight the case. Shamima Begum CAN’T return to UK to reclaim British passport as Government wins Supreme Court bid against jihadi bride

· February 26, 2021 ·

JIHADI bride Shamima Begum has lost her legal battle to return to the UK to appeal over the removal of her British citizenship. The Supreme Court today uninamously ruled in favour of the Government and said Begum cannot come back to the UK for a court case to reclaim her British passport for the safety of the public. Delivering the ruling, Lord Reed savaged a previous judgement by the Court of Appeal and said it had 'made its own assessment of the requirements of [national] security' without any 'relative evidence'. He said: "The right to a fair hearing does not trump all other considerations, such as the safety of the public. "If a vital public interest makes it impossible for a case to be fairly heard then the courts cannot ordinarily hear it." Lord Reed said her legal bid to reclaim her British citizenship should be postponed until she is no longer considered a threat to national security. He said: "The appropriate response to the problem in the present case is … [Read more...] about Shamima Begum CAN’T return to UK to reclaim British passport as Government wins Supreme Court bid against jihadi bride

Shamed publicist Max Clifford boasts of bedding wives, threesomes, grooming and orgies in uncovered recordings

· February 26, 2021 ·

LIKE a voice from the grave, sexual predator Max Clifford boasts of tricking women and acting as the ringmaster at celebrity orgies. In a new documentary on Channel 4 audio tapes of the publicist, who died over three years ago, are played of him talking about his unquenchable lust. Clifford was convicted in 2014 of eight indecent assaults on girls and women as young as 15. In the expose, which will be shown on Monday, he can be heard explaining how he posed as a fictional associate in order to lure women to his office to give him sexual favours. As a PR man with contacts across the entertainment industry, Clifford used a fake voice and called himself Terry Denton as he manipulated his star-struck victims. Clifford, whose former clients included Simon Cowell, OJ Simpson and Michael Jackson, had told women he could make them Bond girls or turn them into the new Jodie Foster. On the tapes he gleefully recalls cheating on his first wife Elizabeth, who was dying … [Read more...] about Shamed publicist Max Clifford boasts of bedding wives, threesomes, grooming and orgies in uncovered recordings

Billie Eilish opens up about her mental health battles and meteoric rise to superstardom in new documentary

· February 25, 2021 ·

SITTING cross-legged on her brother’s bed, Billie Eilish looks like any other angst-ridden teenager as she angrily scrawls in a notebook. But these are not words of frustration at unrequited love or a row with friends. They are the lyrics to the new James Bond theme song . This is how Billie , 19, and older brother Finneas, 23, write all their music together, crouched over notebooks and microphones in the small Californian family home they grew up in. Footage of the surprisingly wholesome process is shown in new documentary film Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry, out today on Apple TV+. It starts with footage of Billie as a 16-year-old before the release of her 2019 multi-Grammy-winning first album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, co-written with Finneas. And it follows her path as she quickly becomes one of the world’s biggest and most critically acclaimed pop stars. But it has not been an easy path to success for Billie. Speaking aged … [Read more...] about Billie Eilish opens up about her mental health battles and meteoric rise to superstardom in new documentary

Royal Navy captain who had sex with drunk cadet after she was sick on pub table is cleared of rape

· February 25, 2021 ·

A ROYAL Navy captain who had sex with a drunk cadet after she was sick over a pub table has been cleared of rape. Lieutenant Rhys Christie was found not guilty of five counts of rape after he was alleged to have 'pounced on the vulnerability' of a young woman following two Navy nights out. A military court heard the 18 year old cadet - who was bought drinks by Christie - vomited in a pub on one occasion and claimed she had 'no memory' of events on either night until she awoke in Lt Christie's hotel room. But the Navy officer told the court she was always a willing participant in all sexual activities between them, adding she had indicated her consent by way of a 'wry smile' and 'giving me the eye'. Today at Bulford Military Court, Wilts, the 29year old, who at the time was commanding officer of Edinburgh-based HMS Archer, was cleared of all charges following a three day trial. Lt Christie, who is understood to have had a partner at the time, breathed a sigh of relief and … [Read more...] about Royal Navy captain who had sex with drunk cadet after she was sick on pub table is cleared of rape
