An orca carcass wrapped in fishing gear has been spotted off the coast of Oregon , triggering a search to recover what may be the first occurrence of a dead killer whale in the state. A fisherman from Salem, Oregon, uploaded a picture of the orca's body wrapped in fishing gear to the website iFish.com, which he estimated to be between 16 and 18 foot long. The orca had a crab pot line wrapped around its tail, and was found around 25 miles out from Newport. "It's a sight I wish I could un-see," the fisherman said in the post. According to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, orcas are most often seen off Depoe Bay and Newport, attracted by the lure of seals and sea lions near the coast. A man who got lost in crocodile infested waters spent the night up a tree to avoid confrontation with the killer reptiles. Brian Duncan, 61, was on an afternoon walk while crab potting near Cairns, north Queensland, Australia's ABC News reported. He went searching for places for put the pots to lure crabs near Chinaman Creek, but got caught out when the tide came in quickly. Knowing it was a crocodile area and rather than risk wading in the waters, he decided to take the safer option and climb a tree until the water subsided. He was reported missing because, after his phone battery died, he was unable to contact his family. "I thought 'well I'm not walking through knee-deep water, too many crocs around,' so I went up a tree and spent the night," he said. The contents from the stomach of a 15-foot-long crocodile in Australia may have yielded a gruesome clue about the fate of a man reported missing 13 years ago, it has been reported. Back in July, John Lever, who owned the Koorana Crocodile Farm, in Rockhampton, Queensland, found the creature that he called MJ dead. After its death, which followed several months of it not being able to eat, its stomach was opened up. Lever was left scratching his head when he saw that the stomach contained an orthopedic plate with six stainless steel screws. He told Australia's ABC News in July: "Obviously whatever bone he'd taken in that had had the operation performed on it, had been eaten away by the crocodile's stomach juices and just left the stainless steel plate with the six screws in it."
