Couples are not always honest with each other when it comes to money. In fact, when you look at the secrets people keep from their partners, ones related to finances are near the top of the list, according to a new survey from CreditLoan.com While "Things done in a past relationship" tops the list for women (23.9%) and men (24.3%) it was followed for both genders by "Wasteful or unaffordable purchases" at 22.1% for women and 16.5% for men. When you add in other financial indiscretions partners in a couple keep from each other including "Debt" and "Bank accounts" over 40% of both men and women have money secrets they keep from their partners. "It's important to note that for some, this grand fudging of numbers doesn't necessarily stop with an overpriced scarf or shiny new Xbox console," wrote CreditLoan founder Daniel Wesley in the report. A married couple in China have realised their paths crossed 11 years before they met when the husband appeared in the background of a picture of the wife. Mr Ye and his wife Ms Xue were both visiting May Fourth Square in Qingdao, China and had pictures taken of themselves at the same time. As Ms Xue poses for her photo, a man posing for his own photo can be seen in the background. Little did Ms Xue know, however, that that man would later become her husband. The couple, who have twin daughters, met and fell in love in 2011 in Chengdu, but it was in July 2000 that their paths first crossed, unbeknownst to them until this month when Mr Ye was looking through old photographs in a family album. An Indonesian court has sentenced a Balinese man to 15 years in prison for robbing and murdering an elderly Japanese couple last year on the tourist island of Bali.The defendant, Putu Astawa, was arrested on September 14, two weeks after the discovery of the burned bodies of 73-year-old Hiroko Matsuba and her 76-year-old husband, Norio Matsuba, by their adopted son in their rented house in southern Kuta where the couple had lived for two years.Police said Astawa, 25, attacked the couple using a knife from their house after they resisted his attempt to rob them. After the killing, Astawa drove to Tanah Lot, a popular tourist spot on Bali's coastline and returned with fuel to burn their bodies, they said.The woman, who was attacked first, had wounds to her neck and stomach.
