· March 4, 2021 ·

A SEVEN-year-old girl has died days after a house fire that killed married couple and their four-year-old daughter. Little Iviee-May Hall died in Bristol's Childrens' Hospital last week where she had been in a critical condition. Married couple Daniel Rudge, 29, and Kaylie Rudge, 28, also died in the fire at their home in Clayton Road, Exeter, on February 21 . Their four-year-old twin daughter Lillie-Rose Rudge died the same day after being taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital. Devon's senior coroner Philip Spinney opened inquests into all four deaths today. Mr Spinney said the causes are yet to be established and further investigations are pending. COVID-19: Test and Trace ‘barely used’ check-in data from pubs and restaurants – with thousands not warned of infection risk

· March 4, 2021 ·

Check-in data from hundreds of millions of people who visited pubs, restaurants and hairdressers before lockdown was barely used by Test and Trace, according to a confidential report obtained by Sky News. The report admits that the failure of the £22bn service to use the data for alerts or contact tracing meant "thousands of people" were not warned they might be at risk of infection, "potentially leading to the spread of the virus." Live COVID updates from the UK and around the world To make matters worse, when coronavirus data from venues was used, public health officials encouraged pubs and restaurants to contact customers directly - a breach of data protection law which could leave businesses facing legal action. The report says that lack of guidance from Test and Trace for local public health teams on how to use the data left businesses "being asked to, or volunteering, to contact customers and visitors". Janet Jackson documentary: Two-part film to cover Michael Jackson and Super Bowl controversy

· March 4, 2021 ·

A Janet Jackson documentary is in the works, with the star reportedly giving unprecedented intimate access and "leaving no stone unturned". The programme, which has the working title Janet , will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the star's self-titled debut album, released in 1982 when she was just 16, and is set to air early in 2022. The announcement comes just weeks after Jackson's infamous Super Bowl "wardrobe malfunction" in 2004 came back into the international spotlight when her co-performer Justin Timberlake - who exposed one of her breasts on stage - issued a public apology for the way he dealt with the incident in the aftermath. Jackson, 54, who bore the brunt of the criticism while Timberlake's solo career flourished, will give her side of the story in the programme. She will also talk about the death of brother Michael Jackson in 2009 and discuss her romantic relationships, as well as becoming a mother later in life, US network A&E said. … [Read more...] about Janet Jackson documentary: Two-part film to cover Michael Jackson and Super Bowl controversy

Netflix’s Murder Among the Mormons tells shocking true story of Salt Lake City bombings, polygamy and angels

· March 3, 2021 ·

MOVIE director Jared Hess was just six years old when a series of bombings rocked the Mormon Church in America. He was living in London, his dad was bishop of the Hyde Park Ward of Latter-day Saints, and Jared had no idea then that events halfway around the world would hang over his life. Two people were killed, a community was terrified and a global movement was questioned - yet few of those involved have spoken about it since. Now Jared, the man behind comedy films Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre, has made a groundbreaking Netflix series about the story behind the killings in Salt Lake City, Murder Among the Mormons. It’s hard to imagine the fear that enveloped the Mormon church at the time. It’s this atmosphere of terror that the three-part documentary, produced by BBC Studios, attempts to capture with grainy original footage from the time. Jared, who has served a mission for the church and became interested in the bombings as a teen, said : “People were … [Read more...] about Netflix’s Murder Among the Mormons tells shocking true story of Salt Lake City bombings, polygamy and angels
