A Chinese basketball club has been fined one million yuan (£107,000) after being accused of disrespecting the country's founding father Chairman Mao in a poster. The flyer, released by the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions, bore an illustration which blended the image of the team's mascot, a lion, with a classic portrait of Mao Zedong. The team's employees who were held responsible for the 'seriously improper information' have been sacked and expelled from the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) for life.
