Masterchef stars Gregg Wallace and John Torode say they are better looking than Ant & Dec

· February 22, 2021 ·

MASTERCHEF duo Gregg Wallace and John Torode are a match made in TV heaven – just like Saturday Night Takeaway duo Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly. But how do the kitchen kings rate themselves against the Geordie lads ? When asked in an exclusive interview, “Are you a more mature and wise Ant and Dec?” Gregg quipped: “No — actually, I think we’re a more attractive Ant and Dec.” John added: “Are we more mature? Well, we’re definitely older!” Masterchef returns to our screens next week for its 17th series. The competition will no doubt rest on a knife edge once more as the fresh set of cooks show off their signature dishes in a bid to please the Aussie chef and East End foodie — or as Gregg likes to call himself, “the spoon-for-hire”. And fans will be pleased to know that the pair intend to continue making the BBC1 show — which returns on March 1 at 9pm — for as long as they can. Gregg said: “I’m never going to stop doing it. I expect to be doing that when … [Read more...] about Masterchef stars Gregg Wallace and John Torode say they are better looking than Ant & Dec

20 things you probably didn’t know about Pokémon as it turns 20

· February 27, 2016 ·

It doesn't seem that long ago, but it was 20 years today that Pokémon was born - and along with it Pikachu. Since then it's spawned game and after game , tons of Pokémon, an animated series, movies and even random merchandise like the huge Snorlax sleeping cushion (we all need one). But while you may think you know everything about the popular brand , there's probably a few facts that have slipped past you. Here are 20 random facts to mark Pokémon's 20th anniversary. 1. 'Pokémon' is just the joining of two words Pocket and monster. It was inspired by creator Satoshi Tajiri's love of insect collecting as a kid (as you do). He wanted everyone to enjoy collecting bugs, even if they lived in the city. Yeah... 2. It could have all been very different While we all know Pikachu from the animated series, she wasn't the intended sidekick. The original partner was Clefairy. Bonus fact: Pikachu's name is a combination of the Japanese onomatopeia for sparkle, pikapika, and the … [Read more...] about 20 things you probably didn’t know about Pokémon as it turns 20

How Peter Andre swapped X-rated antics with Katie Price for demure family life with Emily

· February 27, 2021 ·

Peter Andre has had something of an image makeover in the last few years. He started out as the muscular (and overly oiled) singer of Mysterious Girl, but it was his wild marriage to Katie Price , then known as glamour girl Jordan, that really shot him to fame. Their endless reality TV shows, graphic discussions about their sex lives and countless magazine shoots made them one of the most talked about couples, even after their 2009 divorce. But the man he is today is almost unrecognisable from who he was back then. He's now married to Emily MacDonagh, a GP, and he's become known for being a loving father rather than one half of a headline-grabbing couple. Back in 2004, Katie and Peter took part in the third series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!. The nation watched as they flirted and fell in love on camera and they had more than a few saucy moments. During one such incident, when she was lying in her hammock with her legs wrapped around Pete, Katie said: "I … [Read more...] about How Peter Andre swapped X-rated antics with Katie Price for demure family life with Emily

Peter Andre brings back the Mysterious Girl look as he goes shirtless on 48th birthday

· February 27, 2021 ·

He found fame with his chiselled abs in the 1995 music video for his pop hit Mysterious Girl. And 26 years later Peter Andre proved he's still got it as he posed shirtless to celebrate his 48th birthday. The star took to Instagram to flex his muscles on his big day – and clearly has no fears about turning 50 in a few years' time. He whipped off his top as he prepares to be pampered by his wife and four children. Peter posted the video and he looks better than ever and fans told him he is ageing very nicely. "And just like that and I am 48-years-old," she said in the clip. "Yeah I have got my shirt off, but do you know what, I'm training hard. "Two years time I am going to be 50 – so let's make the most of it! "I'm 48 and feeling great!" the star beamed and he showed off his body. His son Junior commented: "Love you popss. Have a the best day you deserve it." Fans didn't miss the chance to wish him a happy birthday. "You're getting better with age Peter … [Read more...] about Peter Andre brings back the Mysterious Girl look as he goes shirtless on 48th birthday

The coronavirus jab’s most tantalising side effects? It may help fight cancer, chronic pain… and even Alzheimer’s

· February 27, 2021 ·

Joan Wakefield has barely been able to walk for the best part of six months. The 72-year-old from Stockport had a knee replacement in October and has since suffered infections in the scar tissue, causing agonising pain. Then at the beginning of this month she received the first dose of AstraZeneca 's Covid-19 vaccine. 'I woke up the next morning and the leg pain and stiffness was gone,' she says. 'I couldn't believe it. I joked with my partner about whether the vaccine had anything to do with it. Previously, I couldn't even bend my leg. Now I can extend it fully, and even put my shoes and socks on. I'm optimistic I'll be able to return to work sooner, rather than later, now.' It seems ludicrous – a vaccine designed to protect against one virus can, somehow, improve other totally unrelated elements of health. But Joan Wakefield is far from alone. A man receives his Covid-19 vaccinations at Lichfield Cathedral, Staffordshire earlier this week RELATED … [Read more...] about The coronavirus jab’s most tantalising side effects?
