A tranquil stag party on the canal turned to mayhem as boats crashed and one partially sunk as its occupants fell "asleep". The group had hired three boats and set off along the waterways in Worcestershire on Friday and stopped at the pub along the way, it is believed. But events deteriorated and one boat was left stuck in a lock at a 45-degree angle and taking on water after those aboard are thought to have fallen asleep. They had to be rescued from the Droitwich Canal by the emergency services and River Canal Rescue was called in to refloat the stricken boat. The group had picked up their boats from Worcester Marina on Friday before stopping at a pub, the Canal & River Trust told Sky News. During their jaunt along the waterways at least one of the boats hired by the stag party is believed to have been involved in crashes with other boats, the trust said. Ava White suffered "catastrophic injuries" after being attacked in Liverpool city centre in November. A 14-year-old boy, who legally can't be named, has been charged with murder. He today denied murdering the schoolgirl when he appeared at Liverpool Crown Court. The teen pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a bladed article. Ava White suffered "catastrophic injuries" after being assaulted in Liverpool city centre last month. A 14-year-old boy, who legally can't be named, has been charged with murder. An inquest heard today how Ava died from a stab wound to the neck after being rushed to Alder Hey Children's Hospital. Senior coroner for Liverpool Andre Rebello told the hearing she was identified by her mother Leanne White. The coroner added: "Ava had attended the switching on of the lights in Liverpool town centre on November 25. At 8.33pm she was in Williamson Square. Ava White suffered "catastrophic injuries" after being assaulted in Liverpool city centre last week. A 14-year-old boy, who legally can't be named, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court today charged with murder. The teen is also facing a charge of possession of a bladed article. He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during the brief hearing. No pleas were entered but a provisional trial date of May 16 next year was set. A plea and trial preparation hearing will be held on February 18. No application for bail was made and the boy was remanded in secure accomodation. What could have been a sophisticated stag party on a Worcestershire waterway turned to disaster after the men managed to sink the rented boat. The men hired three narrowboats to sail down Droitwich Canal, but by the next morning, one barge was abandoned and another was submerged in the water.
