Now Kim Wilde is back with a new album and is getting ready to head out on her first full UK tour for 30 years. “I’m really ready for it – that’s the fantastic thing,” she said. “I’m really proud of the album, very excited about the tour and I’ve got a great band. A COMMUNITY choir has reflected on a packed year of activities staged as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations. Silsden Singers began the year with a workshop, held in Skipton with East Lancs Clarion and Settle Voices. Members performed at an event in Silsden, marking the Tour de Yorkshire passing through the town, and in May gave a concert at Keighley's Cliffe Castle Museum. They also participated in a street festival at Kendal, with choirs from across the country. And some members took part in the annual Sing for Water North, raising funds for Water Aid. There was a well-supported anniversary concert at Silsden Town Hall in the summer, and a celebratory dinner at Steeton Hall in October, attended by 80 past and present members and guests. The year concluded with a busy Christmas programme, including performances at care homes, shopping centres and on a railway platform.
