TERRIFIED kittens and puppies are being tormented in animal cruelty YouTube videos designed to dupe viewers and win millions of clicks. The sick trend, part of a wave of vile clips being hosted on the platform, involves dramatically "saving" vulnerable pets from being stuck in wires, drownings and predators such as crocodiles, Komodo dragons and snakes. According to research carried out by the animal welfare group, Lady Freethinker, there are currently 122 such videos on YouTube, which have been viewed almost 170million times. Jeremy Paxman defends shooting ‘menace’ squirrels with an air rifle while sitting on TOILET

· March 5, 2021 ·

JEREMY Paxman has defended his bizarre habit of shooting squirrels with an air rifle while sitting on his toilet. The broadcasting legend, 70, who lives in Henley-on-Thames, Oxon, branded the rodents a "menace" that scare off songbirds and "kill all sorts of things." He shrugged off the suggestion that he was being "cruel," and instead responded that "they're annoying me." Speaking to comedian Richard Herring, the 70-year-old said: "You turn around - not while I'm having a c**p of course - just sitting on the loo if it's by the window. “You sit on the loo with the lid down. With an air rifle you can pop, pop off a squirrel or two.” The former Newsnight host and University Challenge presenter - renowned for his ferocious interviewing technique - said he saw nothing wrong with targeting squirrels. Paxman said: “Why is it cruel? They’re annoying me. “They’re always getting on the bird feeder. “I love song birds and I can’t stand the fact that squirrels are always … [Read more...] about Jeremy Paxman defends shooting ‘menace’ squirrels with an air rifle while sitting on TOILET

· March 5, 2021 ·

RIO FERDINAND has adopted his ex-Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson's "hairdryer-type" treatment to homeschool his kids. Like millions of parents across the UK, Ferdinand and his wife, Kate, have just come to the end of their second term as amateur teachers. The retired footballer, who played teacher to three kids, Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12, and Tia, nine, while also raising newborn son Cree, admitted he’s a strict disciplinarian who isn’t afraid to be stern if his "students" put a foot out of place during lesson time. He said: “I think I've learned a lot from Sir Alex Ferguson. I've not gone for the soft-touch approach. “It's important to be disciplined with them during the school day, keeping on top of them. “These are my own kids and I love them, but they can be difficult. You have to give them a bit of leeway but it's important to follow the fine line. “We were having dinner and Kate said, 'tell your dad what you told me the other day'. They didn't want to so Kate said, … [Read more...] about Rio Ferdinand uses ex-Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson’s ‘hairdryer-type’ treatment to homeschool kids
