He was walking down the street, police said, when a light-colored car pulled up and someone began firing a high-powered assault rifle, hitting Suarez multiple times. It was 1:30 in the afternoon. WIDE receiver for the Chicago Bears, Bryon Pringle, was arrested in Florida Saturday after police said he was driving in his sports with a suspended license. Pringle, 28, was arrested by Florida Highway Patrol for doing doughnuts in his 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat on a public road with a child in his car. According to TMZ, the athlete had been uncooperative and “verbally confrontational” with police during the stop. Authorities had noticed Pringle’s vehicle in Pasco County after witnessing the car burning rubber. The vehicle had two passengers aside from Pringle, who was in the driver’s seat. An adult male was in the passenger side and a male child was in the backseat. The child was, Pringle’s son, reported TMZ. Pringle’s license came back suspended after police ran it, prompting them to take him into custody. He has been charged with Reckless Driving and driving on a suspended license. AN ACTIVE threat warning was issued at a college campus as the university told its students to "run, hide, fight." The chilling alert was issued at Northwestern University in Chicago on Monday at around 1.30pm. The lockdown orders were canceled almost an hour after it was sent to students. According to NBC Chicago , two suspects were taken into custody. One of the suspects was found in the Feinberg School of Medicine building, while a second was arrested in the basement of the Ward Building. According to the outlet, one man bailed from the car after carjacking the vehicle on the city's north side. CHICAGO has been rocked by yet another deadly weekend of violence after at least six people were shot dead. There were a total of 23 shooting victims from Friday to Sunday evening, police in the Windy City have confirmed. One 20-year-old man was shot dead in a kitchen on Sunday evening, ABC7 reports. A second man was killed standing on a sidewalk that same night. In one incident on Sunday a 12-year-old boy was hit by gunfire and rushed to hospital. He is expected to survive. A 27-year-old woman was shot dead shortly after middy on Sunday. The deadly weekend came just days after eight more people were shot dead in the city. On Saturday two men, aged 64 and 26, were shot dead in the same incident. SHOOTINGS over the weekend left four people dead and 17 injured in Chicago, police said. One of the victims was a 17-year-old boy who was shot in front of a home on the South Side. He was standing in the driveway of a home just before 2.30am on Saturday morning when he was shot in the chest. He was taken to the hospital where he died, according to local ABC affiliate WLS-TV . The teen was the fifth person killed this year in the area of Washington Heights, the outlet reported. Two people were shot, one fatally, during a fight on Friday night. Just before 8pm, someone opened fire during a fight in the 1500 block of East 61st Street, police said. Major League Baseball has suspended New York Yankees third baseman Josh Donaldson for one game for "inappropriate comments" made to Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson on Saturday. Donaldson, who also was fined an undisclosed amount, is appealing the punishment, MLB announced on Monday. He will be eligible to play for the Yankees until the appeal process is completed. Shortly before the suspension was announced, the Yankees said Donaldson had been put on the COVID-19 injured list. A TRAIN collided with a dump truck during rush hour on Monday morning, killing one person and injuring another. A Metra Milwaukee District North line train hit the truck at a private crossing in Illinois. Metra announced that the driver of the dump truck was killed and a train passenger was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening, CBS News reported. The five-axle dump truck was destroyed and a cab car on the front of the train derailed, authorities said. Inbound and outbound train service near Grayslake was halted immediately after the crash but has since resumed. The train was back on the track and moving by 4.30pm local time. AT least eight people have been killed and 18 more injured in the latest spate of violence to rock Chicago. Two of those killed were found dead in the same apartment building over consecutive days. University of Illinois Brittany Kinlow, 23, was found dead on Monday with a gunshot wound to her head, according to local reports. Officials have ruled her death a homicide. Cops found a second body in the same Belle Shore apartment building on Tuesday. A cause of death for Jovan Cabrera, 26, has not been released.
