United's and City's preparations for the new Premier League season concluded in rather different fashion on Sunday. Jose Mourinho's men won just one of their five US tour fixtures in 90 minutes and rounded off a disappointing few weeks with a 1-0 defeat by Bayern Munich in Bavaria. City, on the other hand, got their hands on some silverware as Sergio Aguero's brace sealed a 2-0 Wembley win over Chelsea in the Community Shield. The top flight gets back underway this weekend, with United taking on Leicester at Old Trafford on Friday and City going to Arsenal on Sunday. After three rounds of Premier League fixtures, the Champions League group phase draw will take place in Monaco on August 30. The World Cup is now little more than a distant memory and now we're getting very much into the meat of things. Manchester City won the Community Shield on Sunday, as they kicked off domestic affairs with a 2-0 win over Chelsea. But European action has already been underway for some time and we're little more than a month away from the Champions League group stage kicking off. Before then however there are two qualifying rounds left to play and with all four Premier League sides heading into the group stage for the first time, Celtic fly the flag for the UK in the early rounds.
