Yes, Real’s recent European record is phenomenal and, yes, Zinedine Zidane is still yet to lose a knockout tie over three seasons in club football’s most prestigious competition but they wobbled almost uncontrollably here before somehow getting past Bayern Munich in an epic semi-final. The final whistle felt less like the end of a football match and more the last bell for an ageing boxing champion who, while ahead on points, was out on his feet. What is it? The second leg of the Champions League semi-final between Roma and Liverpool, at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Liverpool won the first leg 5-2, so Roma need a repeat of their 3-0 second-leg victory over Barcelona in the quarters to reach next month's final in Kiev. A 4-1 win - Roma's result against Chievo Verona on Saturday - would also suffice. Liverpool though - five-time European champions - are masters of the counterattack so Roma's need to play attacking football in search for goals should play into the Premier League club's hands. Jordan Henderson believes that Liverpool should be considered as underdogs in their Champions League semi-final against Roma, despite knocking out Manchester City in the previous round. Jürgen Klopp’s side return to European action at Anfield on Tuesday night knowing they will contest next month’s final if they can overcome their Italian visitors over the course of two legs. Liverpool upset the odds in the last round to eliminate City – the newly-crowned Premier League champions – and are well-fancied to face either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in the Kiev showpiece on 26 May. The biggest date in the European football calendar is nearly upon us, as the Champions League final gets even closer. We are almost at the semi-final stage, with Liverpool, Roma and the winners of either Real Madrid vs Juventus and Bayern Munich vs Sevilla, joining them. Liverpool fought off Manchester City in their quarter-final draw, winning 5-1 on aggregrate. In the other quarter-final tie, Roma staged a remarkable comeback to see off Barcelona on away goals, with the scores tied at 4-4 from both legs. The semi finals for the four teams that make it through will be on April 24 and 25, and then May 1 and 2. But when is the final?
