Some familiar faces and hugely popular figures are among the well-known people we've lost so far this year. Liverpool legend Sir Ken Dodd was among them, passing away in March - two days after marrying his partner of 40 years. Stephen Hawking was another hugely influential figure in our national lives who was lost. He died peacefully at his home in March. And lots of other famous names have died in 2018 - here we look at some of the best-known and at the legacy they will leave. January Tommy Lawrence Former Liverpool goalkeeper Tommy Lawrence died on January 9, aged 77. Known as "The Flying Pig" by Reds fans, the Scot made 390 appearances for the Reds over 14 years in the first team. Lawrence hit the headlines in 2015 when he was stopped by a reporter in the street and asked for his memories of the 1967 derby match between Liverpool and Everton, with the interviewer unaware that he had played in that very match. Frank Adonis Frank Adonis died on December 26, at the age of 83. The actor was best known for his roles in some of Martin Scorsese's most famous films, such as Goodfellas. The sad news was confirmed by his wife Denise, who told TMZ he died at his home in Las Vegas following a long battle with various health issues. She said her husband had been sick for the last couple of years, mainly due to problems with his kidneys. Here are some of the stars we have said goodbye to over the last 12 months. – Dale Winton Winton was found dead at a house in north London, which he had moved into just weeks earlier, on April 18. His agent later said the much-loved Supermarket Sweep star was found to have died aged 62 from natural causes.
