A 17-year-old learner says she has been left too scared to have driving lessons after her seedy instructor told her “stick your tongue down my throat”. And despite the creep being sentenced at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court earlier this month, the teenager says she doesn’t feel any safer behind the wheel of a car. We told you last week how disgraced driving instructor John Pursley avoided being placed on the sex offenders’ register because he had given up his employment. Sentencing, Sheriff Michael Hanlon said: “This was an appalling breach of trust given your position. Taking in to consideration your remorse, your loss of employment and your de-registration from the DVSA, I’m not going to place you on the register.” The 59-year-old was instead sentenced to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work within the community within six months after making the remarks to the teen learner. BRITISH motorists could be fined if they don't leave their lights on when parked on the side of certain roads. Drivers often ignore the rule that makes it illegal to park at night without your sidelights on. According to the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989, it's against the law to park on a road (or a lay-by on that road) with a speed limit of more than 30mph at night without leaving your sidelights on. The law also says that drivers must use the same lights on any type of road if they are parking in fog. Sidelights, or parking lights, are usually found next to your headlamps in the front corners of your car. In most modern motors, they have their own switch position on your dashboard and run on a much … [Read more...] about You could be fined if you DON’T leave your lights on when parked on the side of the road
AROUND a quarter of British drivers could be risking a heavy penalty for having sex while out on the road. Just over 25 per cent of motorists have admitted to performing a sex act while driving, according to a recent study. Conducted by insurance brokers ALA, the study found that a whopping 49 per cent of drivers admitted to having sex in their car, with the majority having done it more than once. But stats showing where drivers were doing the deed were even more alarming. While 75 per cent were only performing the act while their car was parked on public or private land, just over a quarter admitted to fooling around while actually on the road. Those motorists are risking a serious penalty if caught by police. Performing a sex act while driving can lead to a careless driving charge, which would see you fined £100 and receive three penalty points. But it is more likely the case would go to court, where drivers can receive a maximum £2,500 fine and nine points. And if … [Read more...] about Around a quarter of Brits could be risking a huge fine and a road ban for having SEX while driving
