Simon Midgley, 32, and his partner, Richard Dyson, 38, from London were guests at the Loch Lomond hotel during the blaze on 18 December 2017. A fatal accident inquiry (FAI) into their deaths is being held at Paisley Sheriff Court. Gary Love, a fire investigator, said he found evidence the couple had tried to use a picture frame to break a window. Pauline Booth and her husband Scott escaped the fire at the five-star Cameron House Hotel in December 2017. Removal men spent Monday loading up two lorries with the contents of the flat above Number 11 Downing Street that has been Boris and Carrie Johnson’s home for just over three years. The Johnsons avoided the trauma of watching their flat being stripped bare by remaining out of the country on holiday in Greece . Two removal trucks were needed to store possessions while the couple work out where they will live after Mr Johnson hands over power to his successor in the first week of September. They will spend the final weeks of his premiership at Chequers before, according to one source, moving temporarily into a house or apartment provided by a friend, or possibly a Conservative Party donor. The last film of acclaimed Kiwi actor Marshall Napier, written, produced and shot in the top of the south, has been picked up by a major US studio , and will soon be showing on big screens around the country. Northspur is an action-packed feature film, involving a man's struggle to save his wife in a post-apocalyptic New Zealand. Five years in the making, Nelson writer Justin Eade worked together with local producers Tim Hawthorne, Emily Russell and Barry Sangster to make the film. Marlborough’s own Aaron Falvey produced and directed the flick. The scenery may be familiar to locals – as some footage was shot by drone over the Whangamoas.
