GIVE IT A YEAR is a show by Karren Brady which follows the lives of new entrepreneurs. Here's everything you need to know about the business show... When does Give It A Year start on ITV? Give It A Year will air on Monday April 16 at 8pm on ITV. The series will be shown in 12 parts. Each episode is 30 minutes long. The series will also be available to view online via ITV Player. What is Give It A Year about? Give It A Year features people who have just embarked on starting a new business. Each episode of the series will meet a different entrepreneur at the start of the year. It will then flash forward to 12 months later to see what they've achieved in that time. The businesses featured will include chocolatiers, hair salons, youth clubs and technical crockery. In the opening episode, Karren meets inventor Thomas who's come up with a way to keep your tea warm. It has been a bone of contention for some years now – where actually is “Derwent”? I have to say that, after living in Derby for more than the three score years and ten apparently allotted to us, I still do not know. Judging by our postbag, and online comments, it seems that many readers of the Derby Telegraph are not too sure, either. Some feel that if a street or event happens inside the electoral ward boundary that is Derwent, then we ought to accept that is where it is and report it as such. Others say that we should stick to the old names for areas of our city. I am firmly in the latter camp. Because, these days, ward names often have absolutely nothing to do with the geography of Derby as we understand it. Take Arboretum ward. It contains not only Pear Tree and Rose Hill and parts of Normanton and the historic township of Litchurch, but – bizarrely in my view – it also includes the city centre. Although we are as far from the sea as possible, we do have some excellent fish and chip shops in Hertfordshire, including Godfrey’s in Harpenden and Lemon Plaice in Welwyn. Just along Church Street, opposite the Rose and Crown pub, Lemon Plaice is a very pretty fish and chip shop and restaurant. Located in a white double-fronted old house right on the road, the counter for takeaway is on the right, and you go through the narrow doorway to the tiny restaurant on the left.
