Direct passenger flights to North Iceland will jet off from Teesside within the next few months - in what the airline claims is a UK first. Short-break specialist Super Break has announced three “bucket list” epic Arctic experiences with exclusive flights to Akureyri, North Iceland, from Durham Tees Valley. It follows on from the success of its ‘Incredible Iceland’ breaks last winter . The expanded programme of getaways starts from February 2019, and guests can “genuinely go off the beaten track” with exclusive four-night experiences and luxury options including “five-star accommodation” and “mouth-watering cuisine”. Akureyri has “previously been unreachable” direct from UK airports, the company says. Luxury options include brewery tours, tastings and a visit to a local farm to try fresh dishes for an “indulgent escape”. A mum of three from Hawkinge has said she's 'amazed' about the support she has received so far from total strangers after she tragically announced she was creating a 'bucket list' for her son.
