Ricky Wilson and Stacey Solomon’s bizarre scone recipes with lemonade, seaweed and anchovies spark mixed reaction on The Great Celebrity Bake Off

There's nothing better than a scone with jam and cream at an afternoon tea, possibly with a cup of tea or glass of prosecco. But Stacey Solomon and Ricky Wilson decided to mix things up - using family recipes or produce from friends in order to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith. For Stacey, she threw milk out the window and decided to use lemonade in its stead. When she told Paul about her decision, his steely blue eyes deadened slightly, making her incredibly nervous about her choice of liquids. She also broke the mould by cutting her scones into triangles rather than the usual circles, which Paul did not like when it came to judging. However, her scones were ultimately well received, and Paul even suggested her grandmother pass him the recipe so he could try it himself. Simple pancake recipe Ingredients: 100g plain flour 2 large eggs 300ml milk 1 tsb sunflower or vegetable oil, with a little more for frying Method: 1. Put into a bowl 100g plain flour, 2 large eggs, 300ml milk, 1 tbsp vegetable or sunflower oil and a pinch of salt then whisk to a smooth batter. 2. Set the mixture aside for 30 minutes. If you are in a hurry, you can start making it straight away. 3. Over a medium heat, set a medium frying pan or crepe pan and wipe carefully with oiled kitchen paper. 4. This simple seven-step chocolate cake recipe has sent social media users into a frenzy. Baking blogger Chloe, who posts under the name Baking Envy , demonstrated how to whip up the chocolate treat in a TikTok video that has been viewed more than 500,000 times in just 24 hours. The recipe requires just a handful of easy ingredients, including eggs, milk, flour, sugar and cocoa powder, which are combined with unusual additions like boiled coffee and vinegar. The video has been gratefully received by social media users who tried it at home and said it creates the 'best chocolate cake ever'. TUESDAY is Pancake Day. A traditional treat means pancakes with lashings of lemon and sugar. But if you prefer a savoury twist, here are three great recipes that are perfect for any day of the year. Basic Pancake Recipe Makes 15 Preparation time: 5 minutes Cooking time: 5 minutes YOU NEED: 200g plain flour METHOD: Sieve the flour into a bowl with a pinch of salt and mix. Whisk the eggs. Make a well in the middle and add the eggs. Slowly add the milk and whisk together until there are no lumps. Add the oil and whisk again. To cook, heat a large non-stick frying pan. Add the butter. Once melted, pour it out to leave a thin layer to cook the pancakes. Turn the heat down slightly. Pour in a ladle of pancake mixture. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side.
