Research into the effects of technology on learning has yet to demonstrate much in the way of positive results, though. The government’s official Sage committee has modelled the impact of seven ways schools could reopen, which all result in the R value increasing, with some scenarios increasing it only marginally. However, estimates at the upper end suggest it could increase by between 0.35 and 0.5.
