F rench President Emmanuel Macron has accused Russia of using energy as a “weapon of war” as the chief executive of oil and gas giant Shell warned gas rationing in Europe this winter was possible. Mr Macron yesterday told citizens to "prepare for a scenario where we have to manage completely without Russian gas." "The summer, early autumn will be very hard," he said. "Russia is using energy, like it is using food, as a weapon of war." He said the government would prepare a "sobriety plan" to conserve energy, which would start with turning off public lights at night when they aren't useful. "We need a general mobilisation," Mr Macron said in a televised address for Bastille Day. As cinemas start to, slowly but surely, open their doors again, Netflix is continuing to keep us all sane with the release of Millie Bobby Brown’s Enola Holmes – which has been gaining more and more buzz over the past few months. Honestly, you can’t swing a cane without seeing a poster, trailer or teaser for the thing. In this little mystery epic Stranger Things actor Millie does well to shed the pigeonholing of the fantasy series we’ve come to associate her with, as she takes on the role of our titular heroine who’s on a mission to locate her missing mother, played by Helena Bonham Carter. There’s been a lot of hype around this release, no doubt due to the star-studded cast, which also counts the likes of Sam Claflin , Fiona Shaw and Henry Cavill in the roll call, with Millie also donning the producer’s hat for the first time. The estate of Sherlock Holmes creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is suing Netflix , among others, for its upcoming Enola Holmes film – which stars Stranger Things ’ Millie Bobby Brown. In the film, set to be released in September, Millie, 16, stars as the exceptionally gifted younger sister of famed detective Sherlock Holmes, created by Sir Arthur in 1887. As well as British actress Millie, who plays Eleven in Netflix series Stranger Things, Enola Holmes also stars Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes and Helena Bonham Carter as his mother. Netflix’s film is based on the Enola Holmes series of books, written by US author Nancy Springer, with Millie’s character not part of the original Sherlock storyline. However Springer is also being sued alongside her publisher Penguin Random House for copyright infringement.
